I sent a two sentences feedback on their Metro application for Windows 8... didn't expect a reply, like, never, since it was basically a feedback form, not some support form.

Got a reply containing 3-4 big paragraphs like 10 minutes later.

They are really trying to outdo themselves.
If there is anything that can be said is that Amazon tries to have the best damn customer support out there.

And it works, getting good word of mouth with that can only help them.
Yeah, their customer support is just amazing. Just when I feel a bit disgruntled about something the support guys step in and make it all better again. Even late over the weekends. It's pretty impressive it must be said.

Oh and it was on a Saturday past 9pm that I got a response from them. Minutes after I posted the ticket. So yeah, that's pretty much unequalled.

Out of curiosity where is there support located? (is it different for Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk ?)
I can't remember how I got it. I just kept clicking on shit and finally sent off an email. They replied a short time later and fixed my issue. The woman I spoke with was really cool.
I fired off an email to Paypal asking when we might be able to buy Android Apps with it, and explained that I wouldn't be buying them otherwise as I have no intention of putting credit card details itto my tablet or giving them to Google.

I got a large email too, from one of the helpdesk saying that he was in the exact same position and, that he sympathised entirely with my restrictions and stated that it was his absolute pleasure to have tried to assist me.... It's the nicest, most sincere communication I've ever received from a corporate body.

I was genuinely taken aback.

There's a way around that.

If you can ask for a PayPal debit card, do so. It works like a credit card, except it takes money out of your PayPal account first.

I've never seen this service available to the uk, at least never when I visit the site.

I'm also pretty sure the helpdesk guy would have mentioned that option if it was available, heck he'd probably be using it himself.

It might only be available to some users. eBay sellers. >_>

Ah, fair enough.
Amazon CS is generally considered to be the best in the industry, especially with stuff like the Kindle. You can root it and stamp on the Kindle, and they'll still gladly send you a new one next day, free of charge, and send a courier to collect the faulty one for you.

Exceptions exist, obviously, as with all things. They can't be perfect, so some horror stories do appear from time to time, but they are by far the minority.
