There are some issues regarding VN commercialization here:

1. Localization and paperworks : To avoid the "Revolt" debacle (publisher using some fanbased work which got the game taken down after protests), localizations should be done professionnaly with contracts to avoid any legal complications.

2. Pricing point : If we look at the leader of commercials VN, WinterWolves sell his recent games at around 20$. I'm pretty sure GOG would say no at this price and would want to lower it at 10$ (for a "regular" edition). So it's understandable if the publisher don't want to publish it here at a too much lowered price.

3. Market data : I haven't done extended research on the VN market but I clearly remember Cinders sold around 2.000 copies trough direct sales on its first year (at full price) so with the estimations of the recent Shovel Knight thread, it would be in the lowest-seller tier on GOG. I don't have the data for Long Live The Queen but I'm sure it sold more copies on GOG because of the 10$ price and numerous discounts (so the sales numbers are altered).

There's also the question of resolution. I've tried reading comics on the reader, but often the text is too small to be comfortably read on a 6" 600x800 screen (requires zooming and scrolling more often than not). A 10" (or otherwise similar to A4-size) with higher resolution would be better for the comic format. Pure (reflowable and resizeable, as in epub) text works great.

I would really like a 10" colour e-ink reader/tablet for image-heavy reading, but I guess the closest to be found anytime soon is a full tablet with a standard LCD display.

I'd love to see visual novels on GoG, particularly Japanese VNs. Unfortunately, Japanese devs/publishers tend to be DRM-happy, so I'm not holding my breath.

If GOG exercises good quality control and the VNs have enough gameplay, then I don't see any reason why they couldn't be added to the catalogue. More diversity is typically a good thing (which is why I'd also like to see some of the better kids games, like the Humongous titles, here).

Actually, I love having multi-device pdf documents that I can read both on my laptop and on a tablet so that I can continue my reading while in transit in the bus.

I put it on it's side so that I can benefit from the largest possible width (since you read from left to right, not top to bottom) and just adjust page size with my thumbs to fit the entire width.

For ereaders, it's a different story. For that, you want something that flows naturally with your screen like epub, because you can't easily resize it with your thumbs. It's good on paper, but pictures are often quite problematic and availability for larger screen ones is poor. Also, the screen for the brand I got was flimsy and broke within 6 months (no trauma, just natural use). The tablet I got as a replacement is significantly more sturdy and I expect it to last me years.

Given that I've given up on ereaders at this point: if I got graphic novels, I'd definitely want a more generic pdf version that I could resize dynamically to fit the device I'm using.
