Take a sniper rifle and try to shoot it from on top of the mountain
Then toboggan down the slope on a live crocodile whist eating beef jerky!

I've actually been reading about the additional activities you can plan around the climb itself. There are a few different safaris (Kenya, Tanzania, Zanzibar) that can be built into the trip, or you can skydive over Kilimanjaro!

With a good landing that could shave a lot of time off the ascent

As far as I'm aware there's no real climbing involved; just 80km of walking! Akwater's done it before so should be able to confirm this? The only difficulty you might come across is Mountain Sickness (ascending too quickly), but we're going with a company that put acclimitisation days (you climb high during the day, but then go back down a bit for the night) into the itinary which prevent this happening.

I'm sorry, that stunt's only impressive if you're tearing raw meat with your teeth, off of a bull the crocodile is gnawing on. Beef jerky won't do it anymore.

Well I was thinking of super spicy beef jerky made with habanero or dorset naga seasoning. Maybe cut the beef and just make it habanero jerky

I'm certainly intrested in something like this and funding shouldn't be a problem. I'm more worried about my fitness level. Put me down as a maybe and I'll have a serious think on it, more then enough time to get fit between now and end of the year.

Yeah, I think I may have to invest in a gym membership myself!

This sounds absolutely amazing. I am a bit concerned about the money, however I should have enough by the time August 2011 or later rolls around. I also am a bit concerned about the shape I'm in, but again by that time I could get in much better shape and would obviously even have the motivation to do so.
I guess I'm in the maybe category for now, I can commit if at all possible when we get closer to knowing exactly when this is going to happen.
