monkeydelarge: Feral people have no personalities? What? Of course, feral people have personalities.

Telika: Uh yeah. "Rawrr grr ksss kshhh". So, for you, either this is "personality" or nothing at all. :-/
Their way of communicating with others will leave a lot to be desired but they have personalities Animals like cats have personalities too.

Dzsono: Yes, although the whole pretence of dating is a bit redundant with an android, no?
True so the topic subject should be, would you have sex with an android.

If it was sentient? Sure, it'd be interesting to see what an android thinks about dating.

Nice_Boat: Well... the thing is an android has no real feelings, so you would not have a girlfriend but a maid or slave, and this would not be ethical because...

Fuck it, gimme 5, one of them with neko ears and sailor schoolgirl uniform.
Goodbye Cleverbot, you whore, I don't need you anymore.
LOL if an android has no real feelings then it's just a machine like the computer in front of you(unless it is a sentient being without emotions like Vulcans)so treating it like a slave would be be fine.

For me, it wouldn't even need to be an android, a vaguely feminine-chassis (including fem-voice & appropriate mannerisms) droid that can put up with me would be fine.

I bet thats a challenge. :P
Sure, why not.

Rusty_Gunn:
how about a "tickle me elmo" in a wig?
I'm a single, straight, white male in Korea; I've dated androids.

Sachys: how about a "tickle me elmo" in a wig?
LOL, that laugh would give me the "heeby jeebies"

what I meant in my other post is that "if I'm 'dating' a robot I don't need 'her' wearing a full-body rubber disguised as skin.

why do I feel like the "tickle me" has taken on a whole new meaning?
I won't dance around the issue. Indeed I would as long as I had a remote to mute her after the act. She would also have to clean herself, because I am not doing that. Besides, it would save feeling guilty after a masturbation marathon.
She would have to cook and clean for me to keep up appearances for the parents, family, and friends. I don't want to be that creepy dude that has sex with robots.

"Eve no Jikan" was a pretty cool movie.
Well, you can't date an android. You can be in a relationship with one, I suppose, but you can't date. The basis of all humanity can be summed up by the following three statements:

1) Humans have intention. They act autonomously, without others knowing fully what their agenda is.

2) Humans procreate. The selection of a mate is the underpinning of all socioeconomic constructs and behavior.

3) Humans become joined as an economic and sociological pair consensually and with their own benefit in mind.

An android cannot, and likely will not ever be able to, meet any of these three criteria. And to those who claim that once we can map out the electronic surges that supposedly enable consciousness and thought, that we can make androids that are conscious and self-aware, I say that you are not giving evolution enough credit.

There is more than one way of designing. If true AI is ever to be realized, I think we'll do it the same way nature did it, by evolution.
