Also, keep in mind androids can't biologically reproduce and therefor have no need to seek out partners with caveman genes which are strangely assumed to guarantee healthy offspring so instead androids can focus on finding partners with less unfavorable character traits.

Book and movie. Both are good; the book is profound in a way that a war comedy doesn't have the scope to be. Both have a lot to say about what it means to be a man caught in a machine that functions by treating you as just another machine.

If it was truly sentient, yes. It wouldn't be no different. The dating rules would be all the same, long term relationship processes would be all the same, you'd still have to attract your mate. About the only thing that might be avoided is an imperative biological urge to reproduce. Some day we might prolong life by putting ones conscious in a robot body so the lines are going to get really blurred.

I imagine the incidences of murder and suicide would increase massively once a system is developed to shove ancient, obsolete genes into a form requiring rapid evolution. Makes for a nice dystopian image to envision robotic entities that have gone insane attempting to engage in reproduction by forcibly restoring the consciousness of people who've deactivated/deleted/killed themselves, turning the rotten imperative into a form of psychotic sadism.

It might if the human race makes a lot of bad decisions with such technology. But consider this, let's say you had an interest that thoroughly engaged you, like say physics or outer space exploration it's possible one would gain vast knowledge that could not be achieved in a normal lifetime. Maybe that might be enough to stave off insanity. Then again maybe it's not enough since it might not be a passion after 300 years (or really stop insanity). Hopefully in that future psychology will have made legitimate scientific gains to help meet the challenge. Then again unethical people that live forever like that will redefine the word "monster".
