Just doing a survey thing.
This is for your Enterprise right? Noticed the other thread before.

Came back today from winning in my own universities Graduate Enterprise module. So from one to another I'll give some feedback like I got today:

Your idea looks very nice to start with, but what phones will this cover specifically? Will it just be suitable for IPhones or will you be able to branch out to other phones such as Android, Blackberries etc?

How long does the speaker last for? Does it run on a battery that needs to be replaced? Because that could be a major weakness; having something designed to make a loud noise that won't do because the battery inside is dead.

The actual point of the product is to find your phone when on vibrate/silent. Is this something that occurs a lot that demand for the product would be good? Also is carrying the remote to make the sound for the cover practical? How big is it? Would people be willing to carry around and look for one thing to then find another thing? Also what would happen if the person loses this remote? They'd just have a basic phone cover then.

It still seems like a nice idea though, good luck to you in your enterprise.
Find My iPhone already does this and more without the need for a case/remote control.
cool idea. If the remote was small and you could attach it to your car/house key chain that would be great. What price point are you looking at?

True, though it wouldn't necessarily be able to tell you "it's in the bedroom," only "it's in your house," right?

It can produce an audible alarm that overrides the mute switch.

Oh I thought it was just a GPS locator thing, I've never actually used it. Good to know.

If the battery dies though this is still usefull, we're planning to make a device for general use keys and wallets as well as phones so bear with us

Thanks for the help, for demand wise we've done surveys online and it would be popular, due to feedback we're branching out to general use such as keys and wallets, this will also make the device a lot cheaper due to not purchasing phone covers so win, win.

The problem I would have with this device is that if ive lost the phone, chances are I dont have a clue where the remote to activate the buzzer would be.

if its the same as find my droid it does need another cellphone to text it though. one of 2 codewords to either make it ring obnoxiously loud or text you the location

and this case seems like it may work if our phone is dead too. But yeah hes got aps to compete with, and unlike a case an app can work on many different shaped phones. Then again a case won't come with a whole ton of permissions that basically spy on you(why should the free version of find my droid need access to my camera pictures?)

For that reason(but mostly the fact it isn't dependent on my phone actually being charged) If i had a phone it fit i'd probably buy his case(depending on price and how good it is at actually being a protective phone case), except I got like 20 small stick on things that do the same from some infomercial years ago(a clicker for your keychain with a little row of buttons that make the corresponding small sticker with a chip in it squeal). No idea where you'd find them now tho so at least even with the physical market also having competition it isn't that prevalent or well advertised.

I think it can also turn your ringer on and crank the volume until you find it and press the "found it" button to make it stop (and return your ringer settings to normal) so you just have to follow the noise once you get its approximate address

If you attach it to the phone, you'll always know its relative location.
That's actually a pretty good idea. I doubt I'd buy it, though, since for WP, MS provides a service of making it beep through their site (once logged in, of course).
I tend to keep important things in one place wherever I go. I also can't remember losing either of my phones once, so no. I know some people like to spread everything they have across as many tables, chairs, closets and countries as they can, but I'm not one of them.

I was going to say, the idea behind this product seems solid, but I doubt I'd buy one for my phone. A wallet one would get far more consideration from me though.

Sounds like there are differences. Find My iPhone is an iCloud service so pretty much any old web browser will do the trick.

Seconded.
