McDon: Thanks for the help, for demand wise we've done surveys online and it would be popular, due to feedback we're branching out to general use such as keys and wallets, this will also make the device a lot cheaper due to not purchasing phone covers so win, win.

Fictionvision: I was going to say, the idea behind this product seems solid, but I doubt I'd buy one for my phone. A wallet one would get far more consideration from me though.
lucky for you due previous feedback, we're redesigning a system for general use, it can be used on your keys, wallet and even your collector editions, so bear with us while we design it.
On the plus side we've found out it's cheaper too!
Any ideas for names, i've decided on the name Beeper Seeker atm

No.
im surprised nothing like this exists on the market already or that there isnt a patented item similar that just never see's the light of day.

Just doing a survey thing.
What is the price point?! My mom ALWAYS loses her phone and can't find it so this would be PERFECT for her!
I think the biggest problem would be designing the covers, eg. I have 2 diff galaxy phones, i bought covers in different places.

One cover has the retainer strap go over the back of the phone when closed, the other goes over the front of the phone when closed, the one that goes over the back is better, when you unhook it, its at the bottom of the flap that drops down.
The other one is attached to the top and irritates my ear when talking.

The reason for mentioning this is that, apart from getting the small things right in the design, you also have a myriad of different phone shapes and sizes to contend with and market.

Maybe make something that fits inside the battery compartment or maybe something that will activate when you whistle like the keyring things you can get.

Either way, I would buy two if they fit that sort of criteria.

there have been things like it. i've got one.

but not to be discouraging they suck at getting their brand out there and nobody seems to know about them so this guy probably has a shot anyway if he can advertise and find the market

examples(couldn't find my exact one quickly may not be made anymore, but its a bit like a combination of these first 2) in fact his updated design sounds exactly like the one I previously bought.

@op not sure if this'll help you, but these are similar items and their prices

https://www.keyringer.com/orderform.html
(which is weird because i could have sworn the one i had was alot cheaper than that..... (like 2 sets of keychains and 5 stickers each for 19.95( but it was one of those "call now and double your order bla bla bla so we ended up with 15 more than needed but) of course I eventually lost the keychain to find the stickers when i moved)

but your indygo thing has the cases at about $6 each which is much less so you seem like it'd do well against them.
if I was looking and saw could buy a phone case from you for 6, or buy something to stick to a phone for 20 i'd get the case and cut the thing out of it if I wanted to use it on my wallet lol.

Lucky an engineering is experimenting with using the phone battery to power it but unfortunately as you said there are different shapes of phones, however we will try to make it fit as many phones as possible especially the most popular ones.

And another note, you've no shipping fee being from Ireland :)

Even better again, hope it works out for you :)

Go n-eiri an t-adh leat :)
No.
I have never, ever lost a phone... or any other kind of complex and valuable electronic device, for the matter.

I really don't understand how and why people lose their gears so easily. Attention deficit, maybe? :-P
Never back inventions via kickstarter. Costs usually exceed what they planned, they have no experience and there is no way such project would end successfully.
Would you also make a similar cover for the remote control, just in case ?
