Thats not only not likely, thats near impossible. This board is brand new, the whole chipset has only been out for a few months. And no, stuff does not change this fast.

I think you're greatly overstating it.

Just because the chipset is new, doesn't mean that there's not some other component that they've needed to substitute or as previously stated, they decided to change the packaging or something in the bundle.

What hedwards is saying is that the specific board you purchased might be out of stock, or manufacturers might have switched to a new specific configuration. Other boards using the same chipset are still available, but that specific configuration isn't. This kind of minor change in configuration happens all the time with technical equipment, and this seems to be the likeliest explanation to me.

But thats not the case here, its far more likely that only this store discontinued the product. It is still available in other stores and marketed on the MSI website.

As it seems, the article is again in stock, so actually, the store mentionning it as "discontinued" was a bit of an overstatement .... The only thing that changed is the promo that disappeared.
