This topic is to list those games that have the worst ever minigames in them. You know the ones I mean. Those unskippable, pain in the rear end games that ruin an otherwise good game.
My nominee:
The damned Dead Space Asteroid Shoot From HELL!
I tried and tried to get past this and see the rest of the game. I don't have the patience nor the time and , perhaps, even the reflexes. I want to kill Necros and not shoot asteroids. At least, let me skip it after a few tries and just give me a damned cutscene or something. Unskippable mini-games suck and are a cheap attempt at lengthening the game or an artificial difficulty spike.
What are your Worst Mini-Games?
The turret mini-game as you escape from Taris in KOTOR, PC version. The mouse acceleration is completely different than in the rest of the game, that is to say, the turret barely moves even as you shove the mouse across the desk and onto the floor in frustration.
And the gameplay is almost diametrically opposed to the rest of the game. You've been choosing targets and queuing attacks the entire time--suddenly you have to complete a twitch sequence to advance?
I haven't played it myself, but I've heard that the Feeble Files mini games from the arcade are obscenely hard, as in the devs released a save game after them.
The dance minigame in Stubbs The Zombie. Jesus christ what an useless and unfitting minigame. At least you can skip it after a few failed tries.
I agree with you on the Dead Space asteroid minigame, it was a pain in the ass but I managed to complete it.

I FREAKIN' LOVED THAT GAME.

Thats a bit odd, you're not the first person I've seen complain about that. Isn't the swoop racing minigame far more twitchy and annoying? I've only got the xbox version but whilst the turret turned fairly slowly, it wasn't unplayably slow, I could still get through it on my first go. Was the PC notably different in speed?
I have to agree that both the shooting and racing broke the flow quite a lot, sudden arcade sections in RPGs and adventures usually do.
However, for the simple fact that it's twice prevented me from finishing the otherwise excellent Monkey Island 4, I have to nominate Monkey Kombat as the worst minigame in the history of gaming. It's not funny, it's not adding to the story and it's frustrating as fuck, pretty much the ideal definition of artificial gameplay lengthening minigame crap.

The blasted RC plane missions in Vice City and San Andreas! God I hated those so much!

Yeah that was about the only time in those games I wished for a controller rather than keyboard & mouse
Geometry Wars in PGR. I hated it, it felt like an alpha-stage game to me. But I did like the XBLA version, Steam version, and even its clone, Blast Factor on the PSN.

I hated the fact that it always threw you out of PGR when you exited it. Oh and have you tried geometry wars 2 yet?

Nah, haven't bought it. Is it any different?

A lot different. In the sense that it includes a lot more features and game modes on top of the standard one. Plus it looks much better. Give the demo a try, you wont regret it.
Maybe is not the "worst", but the Arcade machine in SMT: Nocturne is definitely annoying (specially because you need to beat all the twenty levels in a row to get the best magatama in the game).

Makes me think that you're a shill for Activision...
I think I will try the demo anyway.

I stopped playing those games because of those missions. Lack of time and lack of patience to tolerate bullshit like that.
