Shame everyone needs more Vampire: The Masquerade sadly it was not to be.

Go figure, CCP drops they're only other game project. With how long it was in development and how much effort they focus on EVE Online, it's not surprising. They should have left White Wolf alone years ago as they've only hindered a good name of publishing. As soon as they merged White Wolf literally halted most hard back books, and even to a degree the digital publishing slowed. My respect for this company has been fading the last couple of years, even though they technically have the most massive and complex MMO out there.

And yet again, they're back to focus on EVE online. That's the real reason at the core; more focus on what they already have, instead of create something new. Just like how they dropped the whole "walking in stations" update years ago, which was highly anticipated by many. This company is becoming more and more predictable.

it's a shame that EVE players won't let their game be anything more than blown-up space ships.

Personally, I was super stoked for Incarna. I re-subbed just to be a part of it.

The concession is always granted to the impetuous and their sense of entitlement, what a waste. With so much potential, I hope it is realized some day.
Its really weird how underused World of Darkness. ...i mean it IS most detailed world of that sort around.
The silver lining: Maybe the obvious demand will cause someone else to try to make another WoD game, and it'll be single-player.
But the reality is that it seems that nothing of the kind will be out for a very long time, if ever. So we're all stuck to remembering Bloodlines I guess...

And yeah, quite surprising at how unused the setting is, with vampires being all the rage for several years. Then again, becomes far less surprising when you remember the sort of vampires that are all the rage; little room for anything... proper.
Very sad to see a World of Darkness project being cancelled. As others already said, this is an amazing setting that deserves more attention. However, given the lack of progress in the project, and seeing how oversaturated the MMO market is already, it was probably not economically viable to fund several more years of development.
Sad, really sad because it was great to know a project on WoD was actively being worked in.

But not unexpected, so many years in design and no progress? it's days were counted.

But one can hope for it to be taken by another developer.

Edit: I guess I'll stick with Star Citizen.

That's your nostalgia talking. WoD has never been "proper".
Noooooooooo!
Oh well, I'd kind of forgotten about it and it probably would've been another generic MMO.
Still, at least the universe was different from most MMOs.

For lack of a better term. Definitely a far cry more "proper" than any sort of "modern" vampires we're being flooded with in recent years.
Well, maybe now they'll focus on a SP game.
So...

VTM CCG was shut down, in the P&P RPG The Masquerade was abandoned to chose another background, the whole Vampire IP was locked for years, for this?! Another MMO vaporware?

...
I'm not too heartbroken, I'd much prefer another kick arse single player VTM game.

That and it's good to see a dev focus on a single game. It can get annoying when a dev tries to do too much at once, Cryptic has suffered from this for years and telltale has started taking on what might be too much at once (though they seem to be doing fine for now).
Meh, I don't like EVE though. :/
I too would rather have a single player game. Preferably another vampire game.
