World of Goo is on sale this weekend for $5 on steam.
If you haven't played this indie title yet please check it out. It's easily my favorite game of last year. It's a charming, beautiful dynamic puzzle indie game.
And please, if you dislike steam please go elsewhere to voice complaints.

looks like another good weekend deal on steam :) i hate paying euros on steam, but i love theirs weekend deals. As I think about it, i am buying nearly all theirs weekend deals :-D

It's a really fun game. You can either play the game through in a sort of "campaign mode" of puzzles, or go online and try to make the tallest tower of goo. No DRM if you buy it the normal way, either.

I'd suggest people try the demo out first, I know 5 € isn't much but I couldn't find the charm in the game. I usually like level-based (Super Mario Bros 3 style) games even though the main game wasn't all that good, but World of Goo centers around one gimmick and it got old for me in the third level so...

I actually tried the demo back in the day and decided not to spend 20€ in that game. But 5€ is different. =)

You should buy it, if not fr other reason, to support the indie developers who knowing the game would be pirated as hell still released it DRM free, plus they offer the soundtrack which is quite good for free also.

Eh... I played World of Goo a while back. It was cool and all but just not my cup of tea. Hard to captivate me these days.

Seriously guys (and gals), buy this one.
I got it for 20 dollars when it came out and it was worth every cent, for 5 euros it's a bargain!
One of the best games i played last year. Go get it!

I feel like if I force myself to keep playing it, I COULD eventually find it. But I don't see myself doing it.
I'm still sort of tempted for some reason. WHY? GO AWAY.
Does anyone have anything to say on the Maw (a buck off [$9] until it's released), or the Penumbra games (both full games + expansion for $18)? Overture is finally available on Steam, and I'm realllllly itching to get my survival horror on. And the Maw just sounds awesome, if so short that it's not worth more than $5.

Agreed. Great little game and I actually find myself replaying sections of it every now and then, just to see if I can do it better/faster. Well worth the 20 bucks and more than worth a measly 5.

It is a nice game but just not for me. Perhaps it is the focus on just one type of puzzle or maybe I am just wired to enjoy puzzles that are not physics puzzles. It is a good game for those who like puzzles of a more abstract nature, but I just couldn't get into it after a while.

Yeah I'm much the same way really, I can see that a lot of work went into it and I can easily imagine it having Lemmings like addictiveness but it just felt too samey to me.
Judging from the 360 demo, The Maw isn't a bad little game, reminiscent of PS1 3d action adventures
