Don't forget Spear of Destiny and its two Mission Packs. Though the mission packs were released in 94, so I guess they don't count.

Good ol' Wolf3D, enjoying the spotlight while Catacomb 3D mean mugs it from a distance... I think I'll play some Wolf3D mods today.

ET3D: Never understood what was so great about it. I preferred the better 3D game that came (slightly) before it, Ultima Underworld.
I felt it was a great technology demo when it appeared, something to show all your friends. As a game, it felt quite shallow and became boring quite fast, esp. as it was quite easy to get lost in the identical looking mazes.

Doom, however...

Jaime: Eva! Auf Wiedersehen!
I prefer the first boss' last word: "Rosenknospe!" (which means "rosebud")

keeveek: It may be easily restored in GOG game by simply removing one file.
I wish the children in Fallout were as easily restored. I haven't played part 2 yet, but it sucks that in this case the censorship is even interfering with the gameplay and makes quests unsolvable. :(

Couldn't they at least replace the children with, say, green mutant rats or talking chicken or something? ;)

You may easily install fan patch for it, children will be restored, and you can happily kill them again :) (it works also for removed 'drug' word etc)

It's almost as old as I am.

Oh, okay, I didn't know that, thanks! Does that mean the unsolvable quest that people complain about involved killing children? ;)
Wow, that makes me feel old. I remember playing it on shareware when it came out and making copies of the floppies.
Wow can't believe it has been 20 years, and looks like Steam is having a sale for the 3 games for about $4. C'mon Paypal hurry and give me my money so I can buy it

Basic rundown:
The patch didn't remove the children, it simply made them invisible. Therefore it was still possible to be pickpocketed by an invisible child, who could then (as a result of not being pickpocketable) render the game uncompletable.

Anyway, as far as Fallout 2 goes, DO DO DO DO install Killap's Restoration Patch.

Leroux: Some fun facts quoted from Wikipedia:

Due to concerns from Nintendo of America, the Super NES version was heavily edited as well. All swastikas and Nazi references were removed. Adolf Hitler, a boss character in the game, had his moustache removed and was renamed "Staatmeister." Blood was replaced with sweat to make the game seem less violent (for SNES copies distributed in Germany, the enemy blood was turned green). Attack dogs were also replaced by giant mutant rats. Employees of id Software are quoted in The Official DOOM Player Guide about the reaction to Wolfenstein, claiming it to be ironic that it was morally acceptable to shoot people and rats, but not dogs.
One plus side the SNES version had was it had a more diverse weapon loadout compared to other versions (Flame Thrower as well as a rocket/grenade launcher)

gameon: Do you know of any specific date of when your account is reactivated? You've had that problem for weeks!
My Steam is fine it is just Paypal refusing to unlock my money, I sold some stuff on Ebay I am just waiting for Paypal to release my money to me, don't know why it is taking so long but they said it could take about a month for it to get released

I don't know, to be honest, but I think you can. Children patch restores everything to it's original state, so it should make quests working again, but honestly - I don't know. I have my falout 2 on a CD, and it's uncensored version, so never had any problems with it.
Great game (and Spear of Destiny too!), great experience back in my 286, sound-less gaming days :-P

The "browser version" is as shitty as anything I've tried to "play on-line", of course, I'm looking forward to replay the entire game (stressful thing, for a map and secret passages scavenger like me) on a proper gaming environment (DOSBox or some real hardware like my DOS-equipped Pentium 4 machine)....
Mein Leben!!

i picked this up on Steam as it is discounted 75% for the occasion. IMO every fan of first-person shooters owes it to himself to own this game. it's the grandfather of the modern fps.
