Well, looks like I'll be skipping out of this one. :(

Oh well. At least I have Portal 2, MK and LA Noire to look forward to!
Nothing really special here or "high end" here, roughly the same than most games released today.

The problem for me is The Witcher 1 didn't run so well on my laptop, and this has even higher specs than that.

I dunno, 1GB video card is still considered a lot for recommended especially as the game isn't using DX11.
I meet the recommended specs. But it does make my rig look less impressive though, it must be said.
Damn, need to get beefed up video card. :(
My processor is the only thing holding me back from the recommended specs.
Well... I pass the minimal... But I totally fail at recommended

Damnit, I made Crysis run on hellishly underpowered computer, I made Bioshock run on pixel shaders 1,4, THIS should be optimised for consoles! I'LL GET IT RUNNING!

I agree, 512mb is an awful lot for minimum specs. Perhaps that's just a matter of my lack of experience with this generation of computer games.

The rest of the specs are pretty reasonable, my rig in general is a few years old and meets most of the recommended requirements except for the video card.
Sweet! My computer kicks ass - max specs and then some!

BRING IT ON WITCHER!

512MB has been in PC specs for the better part of thee years. GTA4 in 2008 listed a 1024MB card as recommended. This year especially PC games have demanded better hardware then a 3 year old card. Both in terms of on-board RAM and architecture.

But crysis was the game that drove 512mb into PC gamers machines with the 8800GT, which mostly came with a 512mb bandwidth.

It is due to you lack of experience with games of this generation that you think 512MB GFX card ram is 'an awful lot'. One look at steam hardware survey has the highest owned card, the 9800 GT. Which has 512MB of GFX ram. PC hardware moves on, since we game on a platform that is tied with it.

Personally I'm glad, since this is a PC exclusive, I very much expect the GFX to demand higher quality hardware then the average console port.

On the topic, I handily beat the recommended specs but it would be nice to know the DX11 requirements.

Damn dude. It's a good thing I upgraded my RAM to 8GB.

You don't really need to phrase it like that.

Considering how many games are console ports, it seems really silly in a sense to have to upgrade a perfectly decent card for a small handful of games.

OTOH if so many games weren't console ports, it wouldn't bother me as much. Buying a new video card just to run a couple games, is kind of decedent.

OTOOH if my mainboard wasn't straining to handle this card, it wouldn't be much of an issue. What with it's x8 worth of bandwidth on the PCIe slot.
i should be okay.
if not i can ask (buy myself) another card for my birthday 2 day :)
Can't run it, no surprise there, as my rig barely managed to run the first game. Not my gaming type anyhow, got so many oldies to play. ;)
