Well, looks like I'll unfortunately have to skip The Witcher 2. I went to YouGamers to get a spec check-up on my PC, and it didn't even meet the minimum requirements.
I agree about the minimum requirements. The game is asking for a lot just to not become a slideshow.

I've just recently bought a mid to high end PC. I won't even look at system requirements for a few months now. Everything has to work at least on medium.
Dual core and an 8800 is pretty ancient now-a-days, honestly. The 8800 is like five years old.

Agreed. Not that my PC could run it, but those requirements are not over the top.

Yeah, a used 8800 can be had on ebay for just over $20. Doesn't seem like the game is asking too much, to be honest.
if your pc can run fallout 3 it will run tw2

Really? I can run fallout 3 as smooth as butter, but I'm sure I miss out on the Witcher 2 minimums by a quarter of a gig of vram.
I ran the testing on YouGamers. Is it possible that the site isn't entirely accurate when it comes to this sort of thing?

$20? That is cheap. The game is still asking a lot from a laptop though and a lot of people only have laptops nowadays. Maybe not the majority of gamers(because a desktop is superior, I know) but still. It would be nice if they didn't forget about us people with laptops...

Yes. I ran the tester for Alpha Protocol about a year ago. Said it wouldn't work. It did.
The specs are what they should be for a PC game that from what i've seen so far looks gorgeous. I'm well over the recommended and this is on a ~2 years old rig.

Yes, but if there was the option to play a less gorgeous version, more people can enjoy the game when it comes out. I'm not sure if that is possible with the engine they are using though. I've never made a game.

Well, my system is a whole green bar. I think it's accurate :P
The thing about specs is what the game does with them rather than what it asks for. If The Witcher 2 with everything on max gives you a solid 60fps on the recommended spec then I might consider upgrading to meet the spec. If, on the other hand, its stutter city on a rig with twice the recommended power I probably wont buy another CDP Red game for quite some time.

And we wont know how it performs until it is out.
