I just tested it on System Requirements Lab, and apparently my video card (Mobility Radeon HD 4670) isn't powerful enough. :(

rooshandark8: if your pc can run fallout 3 it will run tw2

Al1: Really? I can run fallout 3 as smooth as butter, but I'm sure I miss out on the Witcher 2 minimums by a quarter of a gig of vram.
i have heard what I read and now confirmed is that if your PC can run FO3/NV then it should be able to handle TW2, And yougamer isn't accurate lol.

macuahuitlgog: Yes, but if there was the option to play a less gorgeous version, more people can enjoy the game when it comes out. I'm not sure if that is possible with the engine they are using though. I've never made a game.
Yeah, that would be what the minimum requirements offer. With the whistles and bells turned off and the game running on low settings it will be less gorgeous for sure. If you mean two distinct versions, no one does that, games offer a wider or narrower margin regarding the specs but the line of minimun specs has to be drawn someplace regardless.

Even if it's the Mobility model?
Crysis 2 has been totally dumbed down! Where are my settings?? Why can't I max this game? This game has been nerfed for consoles and doesn't use the full power of my PC it's an OUTRAGE!

The Witcher 2 doesn't run on my 7 year old gaming rig! Why can't I drop the details to crap and play it in 640x480? This game is designed for cutting edge PC hardware and it's an OUTRAGE!
Actually, this thread brings me to an interesting idea. I wonder how far the graphical details and effects can be changed in The Witcher 2. As someone who operates on a (relatively) modest system, the point I always get to is that my graphics card is sub-par. If the Witcher 2 engine is flexible enough to turn off most of the fancy stuff and reduce the strain on the graphics card, my processor and ram are more than good enough to run the Witcher 2. Hmm. I shall await to hear of peoples experiences on this with interest,

This, but with more OUTRAGE
Is there any people who upgrade their computers just to play a game in max settings ?

I was going by the specs listed on the gog Witcher 2 page. Might go for the preorder, then leave it a week or two to see how people are getting on.

Guilty as charged.

But only once every two years. 600€ per year. Tragedy.
You gamer tells me I won't be able to run it, system req lab tells me I will be able to run it very well.(almost full green bar). So, can I? Or can't I?

I have
NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT

Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T9400 2x2.53 Ghz

4096 MB Ram

I agree with rooshandark. As I said earlier, those sites are far from accurate, and do tend to err on the conservative side.
The requirements are usually unreliable. Many games that I run on my computer, I shouldn't be able to run them according to the requirements.

The Witcher 2 says "Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2 GHz" minimum for the processor, which is not very high when you compare to other games. Also, I assume that being a PC-only game, it will be well optimized and rely more on the graphic card, so even with a slower proc, it could run decently, if your GC is not too old.
