I don't know why they get a far better price than we do on GOG, but there you have it.. Is D2D inherent DRM like Steam? What will separate this $34 release from the $50 on GOG, other than GOG-specific pre-order bonuses?

D2D will have SecuROM with a 5 machine activation limit that can be revoked. It won't need to connect to the internet at any other time after activation so it is less strict than Steam IMO.

I think D2D is desperate to get sales.

D2D is a distributor that I've come to like, just make sure you know which downloads have DRM and which ones don't. I bought my first copy of Trine there. (The one before I got it included in the Humble Bundle)

While I haven't used D2D, I do like them also. I think too many people have just been brainwashed into thinking steam is the only viable DD service available. I bought Bioshock and Tomb Raider on steam because there was no securom present but for games on steam where all the retail drm is present on top of steam, D2D and other DD should be the superior choice yet those games still get more sales on steam at regular price. It's a real head scratcher.

They've been having good sales in the past months. If they didn't restrict regionally most of the games I'd probably buy more from them. At least they offer Capcom, Bethesda games, and some Activision games in my region.

That doesn't normally affect me, but I dislike the practice. I'm likely to be moving overseas later this year, and I'm really glad that Mr. Gog doesn't normally restrict downloads like that.

There was something a while back that pissed me off by being region blocked in the US.

I've tried to see if that coupon sizzle would really work, but got "country restricted on IP" even if I am not in Australia, but in Europe... Tried to contact the support and got "we don't recognize your IP at the time, our engineers will check it out, but don't know when".

Strangely, they DID recognize my IP when there were no discount to talk about, lol.

Anyway GOG, why are you making us wait for may 10th to take our money? You can see that competition never sleeps..

The price difference makes this a difficult deal to pass up. Someone needs to make a convincing case for GOG here.

How about this - You can steal any of the games GOG sells and get them for free saving yourself $5. to $10. so if saving that money is all you are about then why not just steal games and forget about GOG. If you only care about saving the money buy Witcher 2 from D2D. Otherwise why not just buy it here and DRM Free + Free Stuff.

That's a silly argument. One can be honest (i.e. not support piracy) and still strive for the cheapest price. My point is, aside from the DRM issues, what is the compelling reason to spend $11 more on the GoG version? I don't see where the value is worth that much extra money.

Nothing really, if you want to pay for it right now and don't care about the extras then you should buy it from D2D because the offer only lasts until Monday.
IMO SSF4AE looks more appealing for $30 so I'll buy TW2 from GOG later.
