It's hit 1000! ^_^Foxhack: I really want this bundle but I don't want to pay ten bucks... and I want these on Desura. :\
Umm... aside from Spirited Heart, these are
all on Desura. $10 is a bargain, but you can get everything but Planet Stronghold for $5 and everything but Planet Stronghold, Always Remember Me, and Heileen 2 for $1. Try them, you'll like them. Just get the damn thing, at least some of the games. ;)
Psyringe: Humm. Could anybody of the people who apparently like these games tell me what's so good about them? I've never heard of them before, bought the bundle for a dollar, and started playing "Bionic Heart". So far, I've noticed the following:
- While the setting seemed interesting at first, the story so far is very boring and uninspired. The writing style is average at best.
- The characters have been designed by someone whose understanding of human interactions is on the level of a 14-year-old. Including "witty" remarks about the male protagonist seeing a naked woman in the shower and immediately getting an erection, as if he never saw naked skin before. Eurgh.
- The game is extremely limited in the decisions it offers. Obvious ways of how I would react aren't available because the game wants to force me into other decisions.
- The voice acting is badly directed. The actors themselves are decent (although the the decision of letting 3 of four women be voiced by the same is actress is certainly debatable), but the directing is absolutely amateurish. The actors often say their lines in ways that don't fit the conversation, or as if they didn't really understood their context.
So far, I am utterly bored. The game is about as interesting as watching Beverly Hills 90whatever in a futuristic setting.
Am I missing something?
They aren't the best, no, but I liked them a lot. Doesn't sound like it's your genre at all, though. Don't fret, it happens.
