I´ve bought WC4 from GOG today, and played it during the whole afternoon.
I made some criticism about the way most of the EA games were released on this site. But Wing Commander 4 is, definitely, one of the best deals on GOG. First of all the quality of the videos is amazing, much better than the original one released here (I mean in Spain), and the extras are also great, light years above from other EA games on GOG... For me it is a bit sad to see a product of this quality only on 10th position in the bestselling list... To all WC fans, buy it! You won´t find better deal than the one you can find here. Even the price is great...

They could make the release more awesome if they would sticky solutions to the common problems encountered with the game. At the moment, people with issues either search the forum or head to wcnews.com for help.
It's really that good? (the game was gifted by someone to me, thanks!)

I would buy it. But I want it in German.
It's on my wishlist for now, as soon as I have some cash to spare I'll get it. Really stoked it's the DVD version too.

You can change at some point (text-only) the language to german:

I don't have a joystick (and not really planning on getting one) so I won't pick it up ... and I'd kinda guess that that limits sales, generally.

I played though WC4 on the keyboard in the past, so it's doable. Not as fun as on a joystick, but still it works.

I bought a joystick especially for WC 3 back when it came out. With it, I actually saw the good ending...

Ha, ha. I hope that you have a joystick for the full experience.

I'm glad to know that there are other fans of "Wing Commander" series out there. ^_^ I always felt so alienated because none of my friends like games like this. :(

Oh, don´t worry. It´s not necessary, it´s just a plus (great one), the same goes with x-wing vs Tie fighter.
