just curious, got the upgrade box sitting right here and I've "rented" a few games thru securom, I don't want to go and have to activate those games again if I upgrade, will I have to or should I finish those games first?

Are you doing a straight upgrade or a clean install? The activations shouldn't be touched if you are doing the in-place upgrade. If you want to go from 32-bit Windows to 64-bit Windows, you can't do an in-place upgrade, if you were wondering.

in-place upgrade, 32bit - 32bit

Weclock: upgrade, 32bit - 32bit

Make sure you qualify for the upgrade per this chart:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/get/upgrade-considerations.aspx
If you do, you won't have to reactivate your games.

Most sources should allow you to revoke the installations first. There's also the option of cracking...
Clean install is recommended.
