Well, I wasn't excited about the re-make of Ocarina of Time for 3DS, having played it on N64, owned it on Gamecube and bought it again on the Wii, but I am PSYCHED for this.

Wind Waker was awesome. Arguably my favorite Zelda game. It was "cartoony" and it wasn't as gritty and the final dungeon was a pain in the ass, but it had so much personality.

Anyone else excited to see this good, relatively old game, get new life on the Wii U?
I would rather see them remake Metroid Prime on the Wii U with better graphics and HD :)

They did that (Sort of) on the Wii though.

My fanboy dream is to see Metroid Prime Remade under Cryengine 3 :)
I still have my Wind Waker on the Gamecube. Great game, happy to see it ain't forgotten. Also as the other gentlemen pointed out,a Metroid Prime remake would be welcomed as well.

It still feels like yesterday when it was first released. 2002 wasn't it? Not long enough to forget about, and i bet it still looks and plays great. (apart from the tedious sailing, because the wind changed every few seconds...grr)
I don't tend to get as excited about remakes and 'HD' versions as many folks, as I generally think the originals look just fine. However, if this makes the game more readily available and gives more people a chance to play it, then I'm all for it.

As for Metroid Prime, I just wish the Wii version hadn't been such a limited release.

One of my least liked Zelda games along with Zelda II, so no I'm not excited by this.
Seems a little pointless- cel shading scales pretty well without needing to be remade in HD, I thought.

I'd much rather have Majora's Mask on 3DS. Or Phantom Hourglass/Spirit Tracks HD, with proper controls (you could still do all the touch screen draw-a-path stuff on the GamePad, but for the love of Farore let me move Link with a control pad!)
Yawn, wake me when they make something new.

Judging by these screenshots, they've ruined the graphical style IMO. The lighting on the characters is too elaborate. Where originally they were flat shaded, they now look too '3D'.

Nintendo is remaking an old game on new hardware (and likely charging too much for it)? THEY NEVER DO THIS!!!!

...The wind doesn't change at all in that game. The only time the wind ever changes is if the player changes its direction.

That said, I'm very apprehensive about this. Wind Waker, being remade by post-Gamecube era Nintendo. It seems very likely that waggle controls or some other nonsense end up in the game.

I think I'll just stick to the Gamecube version.

Waggle controls are old hat now, it's all about the poke controls now. ;P

Hm, yeah, I see what you mean. It looks nice, but not sure if it suits Wind Waker.
