It looks to me like a central database for people wanting to get work, or are working in, making Sci-Fi entertainment....kinda like IMDB, but covers Literature, music, TV/Films, games etc. If it's Sci-Fi, and you want to show off your work, projects, or looking to break into the industry, then make your contacts here....
Not a bad idea, I suppose, but Bill really needs to drop the cheesey act. Now where did I put those short-stories I wrote in High-School...?
