Wishbone: And it's not even difficult to do. It's standard functionality to be able to click on any column name and sort the list of results according to that. GOG just hasn't chosen to invest any time in revamping the wishlist yet. Which is their prerogative, of course.

Navagon: Well, I think that right now it's just an extra means of enticing publishers and of course reducing the number of 'I want this game' threads posted here.

...which still get posted with ever-increasing frequency around here...they're worse than the spambot threads about converting DivX to MP4 while enhancing your lower asset...

As GOG's userbase increases, so does the number of people who don't read the rules.

If I see another, something's gonna explode.
Some food for thought, maybe they could list some games that are up in the air for them, AKA could rush for us or not do at all, and we would vote on them. I believe it would work better than 294793874 different games that we know will probably never be released on a list. And we need someone to clean it out because the "Mass Effect 2, DS Games, Etc, ETC" does not help at all.
And I agree with the no moderators but as the community grows so does the spammers/griefers/Gundato's also increase.

That's a no-go, as they absolutely cannot reveal anything about deals in the making. They've said so themselves, and it makes sense too.

robobrien: Whats a Gundato?

A troll.
I've never had a problem with games like ME2 being on the wishlist. As I've said many times before, it is a wishlist, so it should have games that people wish to see on GOG. Eventually ME2 will be an old game, it is already reportedly a good game, so why is there a problem with it being on the list?
The console games, on the other hand, that's just stupid.

CrashToOverride: A troll.

To be fair, he's not really a troll, he just has the incredibly annoying habit of always playing "devil's advocate" in nearly every thread he posts in. Every once in a while, something like that is useful to a conversation, but not all the time.

Cool, have a game on the list for probably over 5-10 years until they THINK about making it available is really helpful. Woohoo.
I agree with the console game though, makes me think about humanity sometimes.
EDIT: Like you said in a thread awhile ago, A Polite Troll is still a Troll. Which includes "Playing Devils Advocate" to "Further and add to the discussion" Yeah right.

It would be good to see a Top 25 on the Wishlist, and a general clean-up to remove duplicate entries as there seem to be quite a few of those. I think it would also be advantageous to be able to sort the list according to number of votes, (so you could, for example, get a snapshot of the top 100 most wanted) and by game date, so you can weed out more recent titles that are unlikely to appear on GOG any time soon.
C'mon GOG guys! Stop getting murdered and take outcast off the list!!

Extending the most wanted list and sorting options are good ideas. In addition to those, I was thinking the following:
- Take the most popular candidates from the wishlist at the moment (100-200 titles for example)
- Put up a voting (maintaining already received votes of course) that anyone who would like to have the game in gog-selection AND would be willing to buy it, could vote the game
- After this those 100-200 titles would get "frozen" and new 100-200 titles selected to be voted. The already voted, frozen game titles would appear on a separate list so that gog administrators could stay on track what games have been voted already making duplicates in voting impossible
The weaknesses in this is, that are there enough willing people to join continuous votings (though I don't know if the amount of voting would get very high because the most popular games would probably come up quickly)
The people of gog could also get quicker the information about probably good-selling titles and aim their efforts better.
