skeletonbow: I did too and waited forever, but after seeing it at a friend's place I started to think it just was not going to happen, because the multiplayer component requires a Runic account to join their online game matchmaking service and a lot of GOG'ers would have a heart attack about that I imagine. Not sure if it has any other requirements that would be GOG unfriendly or not, but it's a great game either way and comes on sale for as low as $4.99 from time to time on Steam and various resellers.

zaine-h: But it isn't unprecedented. The same could be said Rise of the Triad, whose multiplayer also requires an account with the developer. If we ever saw it, the game would most likely be in the format of "Single Player works out of the box, multiplayer requires valid key (provided)" which is rather commonplace here. I'm okay with this as I'd only use single player anyway. Sure, some will complain. Some people just like to complain.
Yeah, I would rather GOG get a game that's just singleplayer than not getting the game at all.

As I said, it has happened before but such times are very rare exceptions and not the general rule. There's no question of course that GOG.com would love to have a popular game like Torchlight 2 here, and almost certainly has been in contact with Runic about trying to make that happen. Runic ultimately holds all of the important cards though and they'd only consider doing it if they deemed it a worthwhile expense for the return on investment as I mentioned. That that hasn't happened suggests at least that they're either not interested or that it isn't a priority for them compared to other projects they likely have on the go.

Postal and Postal 2 - both games that are ancient by any standard now have had major updates in the last year or so and the first game's updates have made it to GOG with promises from the developer that the Postal 2 updates are on the way to GOG also. So this sort of thing does happen, but for every game like Postal or Postal 2 that does this, there are 500-1000 or more games that not only don't, but the majority of which wont. That's the sad truth.

All we have in the meantime is speculation at our disposal in lieu of official word from the developer, and most of them probably would rather not make official statements about such things to leave their options open and to avoid ruffling feathers if they make statements and change their minds later.

I've no problem with the license key requirement for multiplayer although I prefer without it, but a game like this is more likely the developer's requirements and choices not being met at GOG for them rather than GOG rejecting the game on some basis IMHO. Could be as simple as them wanting a single unified game experience for everyone playing the game rather than the Steam version, the GOG version, the xyz version, or it could be something else as simple as not wanting to commit resources to a game that's a couple years old with limited manpower allocated to other projects already. I'll bet the latter part is a big part of it. It's one thing to just release pre-existing binaries on a new digital platform, but a much larger and more costly proposition to redesign and re-engineer a part of a game for another platform.

I'm not justifying it mind you, just trying to put my mind in theirs to figure out what they likely feel about such from a business perspective where resources are finite and decisions are made on allocation of resources to the biggest bang for the buck. It would be great to hear someone from Runic actually make a statement though. I love their games and hope to see future games released on GOG.com also.

grinninglich: By the i highly recommend Titan Quest + Immortal Throne expansion + Fan Made Patch. Very good game and has a different setting.(Ancient Greece, Egypt, China etc..)

vulchor: Titan Quest is one of the best of the genre as well. I loved the setting. Wish it was on GOG, because I'm not gonna purchase a Steam version.

I will not be playing Path of Exile, because it is online only, so there really isn't a point to me.
You can buy Titan Quest on GamersGate. After downloader finished downloading the game you can save copy and paste installation files before closing the downloader. Then install whenever you want. Just uses a cd-key check.
I had to stop playing PoE, the constant server lag/de-syncs ruined any fun I was having, it was enjoyable besides that.
And its online only, so you are forced to live with the de-syncs.

TL2 could come to gog, why not? the version of TL2 from http://torchlight2.perfectworld.com/ I believe doesn't require internet all the time. (I know my version I didnt need steam, or any other sort of service(
Why didn't you people warn me about names on PoE!?!?!

I had to use my initials (thank god I happen to have four of them or that wouldn't have worked!) :P

Do you realize there is someone in that game name TinyE!? Who else uses that?

BAZ is all most all ways taken. :D (I even bid on my name before, got out bid by like $5,000... I won't pay over $5 to use my damn name.)(but domain names with 3 letters are limited)

What happens if you get a name and then stop playing for a while? I would assume until you delete the character the name sticks, correct?
+voted for TL2 wishlist btw.
Any good adventure/rpg'ish games with just a main character and their faithfull dog? I want to bond with something other then my bed.

Each game/services has its own rules and such, I'm not sure how for any specific game/site.
Some times if you delete a character, the name will become available for whoever takes it next, some times its lost forever regardless.

ps. I hope gog posts more TW3 news and media soon.

Fenixp: Yup.
Cool. Like I said though, she does look and sound great so all criticism aside you were dead on with it's overall quality of presentation mechanics. Very nice. BTW before I go look on their site, is there a hotkey list somewhere? Being able to highlight drops and stuff would be nice.

There should be a 'controls' thingy somewhere in options. Similarily, in gameplay options, you may change highlight settings - personally, I have all items on the ground automatically highlighted, but can only pick them up when I hold down the highlight key. There are many combinations of stuff like that - also minimap settings. And in case you wished to get rid of global chat, just hover your mouse over it and in the upper bar you'll see hide (or show) checkbox thingy.

A buddy of mine experienced the same thing with Path of Exile. He'd spend a week getting his character all buffed up, then server desyncs would fuck up his game and cause him to get killed and he'd lose a shit tonne of experience and all his buffs or something like that. This happened several times with the fault laying entirely on the game server side of things and with nothing he could do about it, and with great loss to his character. So... he stopped playing Path of Exile and now plays Diablo III all the time.

Dzsono: I'm still waiting for Titan Quest Gold to be released here. If I remember correctly, there were some rumours about it being released this year on GOG...
Some of us misinterpreted an Enigmatic Hint for Titan Quest. (I think it turned out to be Risen.)

We have Nordic games here and they've been very supportive of GOG, so I'm not sure why Titan Quest isn't here yet. I recently tweeted them about it - https://twitter.com/NordicGamesAT - and messaged their GOG rep, ThomNG; others could follow suit if they want.

And of course there are numerous ways to contact Runic, whether or not it will ultimately make a difference - http://www.runicgames.com/about, https://twitter.com/RunicGames, http://www.youtube.com/user/runicgames

grinninglich: Path of Exile has lagging issues. And i hate lag in hack'n'slash games. If they made it SP i would be great. But i guess it is not happening.

Edit: Oh, of course Diablo 2 is the high king of all these games =)
I'm curious what fan patch you are talking about.... does it solve the act 5 balancing issues?

Thanks.

At any rate, Titan Quest replaced Diablo for me. It had all of the good plus many improvements. I'd love to see it here along with Torchlight 2.
