tinyE: I see that, but then there is this option for points which aren't free. Can you explain that?

Elmofongo: No just found out its Free to Play.
Path of Exile has lagging issues. And i hate lag in hack'n'slash games. If they made it SP i would be great. But i guess it is not happening.

By the i highly recommend Titan Quest + Immortal Throne expansion + Fan Made Patch. Very good game and has a different setting.(Ancient Greece, Egypt, China etc..)

Edit: Oh, of course Diablo 2 is the high king of all these games =)

OH!
Well friend you just saved me some time. It turns out my system can handle PoE but if it has online lagging issues then screw that. If I could manage a good smooth SP game out of it I'd be fine. You also just saved me the rest of my bandwidth for the month by my not downloading it.

And yes I have Titan Quest and all the bells and whistles. It's fun but TBH I always start getting bored of it right about the time I get to the cave with all the "Medusas" in it.

Depends on where you're located, and they have resolved a great deal of them since getting out of beta.

You can buy cosmetics, new character slots (10? for free) and new stash space (the default one is about 10x bigger than the default one in D2)

I'd love to see T2 here to knock off that 6,000+ wishlist vote, or since Titan Quest was brought up that would be fantastic to see too at 1500+ votes. (It's a shame TQ still isn't here since Nordic was releasing some gems not too long ago.)

Elmofongo: Samething with me being sad that Arma 3 is a Steam exclusive for who knows how long :(

Examples?

tinyE: When I bought it, a year or so ago, I was told there were limited installs. Now that came with the assurance that I could write Relic with my account info and they would give me more installs as I needed them. AND as near as I can tell you need to be online to play it. You might be able to get away with SP by unplugging your connection but you won't get any updates or patches or mods which are automated.
They actually went the limited install route? Shameful.

This game is certainly taking its time getting here when its brother already is. Surely they have gotten anything they are going to out of the regular sales routes and been cracked wide open for ages.

I don't know about version directly form Relic but Steam version can be run without internet connection and doesn't appear to have limited activations. ANd it certainly isn't patched too often to be afraid you'll miss something. I am not sure it had any in last year.
I would probably rate it as my no. 1 in hack'n'slash games. Path of Exile is better game and have incredibly extensive skill tree and fun season events but it needs interent connection to run and tends to lag because of it sometimes. Usualy nothing too extensive but it has its bad moments. If it had offline mode, it would be very likely the number one. I like bot T2 and PoE more than Diablo 2
Exile is free to play with microtransactions but most of it are cosmetic effects for weapons, armors, spells, etc. They also sell more stash slots but you get 5 I think for free and they are quite spacey.

@OP, no Torchlight 2 was never here. People were asking for it around release, hoping it could appear but it never did.

I guess the game gets more enjoyable after your character starts to get in shape. And yes TQ SP seems boring yes. Try playing with friends, girlfriend, wife.

Which class - class combination did you try?

Although i haven't played myself there is also a game called Sacred. Did you try it?

Edit: Also TQ developers is making Grim Dawn now. Early access on Steam for some time.

Curious, since Torchlight was made by Runic Games. :P
If/when it shows up here they have a sale waiting from me, though not until its on promo. I have the stand alone version already and it has worked just fine for me. I have installed it on my desktop twice (Once after a reformat), once on my laptop and in a virtual machine a time or two and it has always activated fine every time and never bitched about connecting again anymore.

Still I rather have a proper GOG version to archive. Plus that would get me another MP key if I should ever need it.

Ooops.
Of course I meant to type Blizzard.
I mean Sierra.
Or EA.
Atari?

Wow, looks like you'd tried to get as far away from Detroit as possible while still remaining in Michigan. :D

/OT
I'll buy it at some point. Don't own it in any format and I enjoy that sort of game.

This is a good example of why I wish GOG would work through transparency on some of their deals (I know its a tall order). I'd buy it full price here... but with no clue that its coming or not, I may pick it up on sale somewhere else. If I knew it was coming... even in the next year or two... I'd pass on sales and bundles to get it here.

I did a quick search on the matter. Torchlight 2 on steam uses steamworks. You need to run Steam in order to play it, but you can use Steam's offline mode. If you buy the game direct from Runic Games, you will need to "authenticate" before you start playing and to access patches and/or mods. And the direct version comes with 10 activation limits, after which you need to email or call Runic Games to get your activation lock lifted.
