I tried to like MP, but it's just not for me. I played Rogue Spear, Quake 3, Guild Wars and Everquest's MP back in the day. With the SimCity BS and other games adding online only DRM it is becoming more of a seething hatred. Also, you must remember the stereotype for most of us geeks/nerds is antisocial behavior.

LoL. My few "real" friends accuse me of being a hermit, I guess I'm just a REAL world antisocial :P

I also guess it's a little harder to upset me about anything in the cyber world, I can remember getting into "Camp" feuds with others in EQ, WoW etc... but mostly I'd find I was able to make the OTHER guy rage and I'd be laughing the whole time

Well, I am glad you got laid thanks to mp games, but to answer your question, I have nothing against MP games. As long as they don't screw my SP games. Elite was always single player and thankfully its SP component is unaffected by the MP in this new installment.

I am not a kid any more nor do I buy one game per year, nor have the desire to play thousands of hours of a multilayer game to become good enough to not have to suffer from all those people who have nothing else to do than play the game.
That's part of it. The other is when I want to play single player games (majority of the time), I want to do it at my own pace, to pause if I want to, to have a good story line and not have the myriads of angry gamers affect my game experience. It's hard to get lost in a game world when you have morons ruining your fun.
