Why do people focus more on sales then they do actually playing games?

Sales are not as interesting for me as they used to be. I would rather be snowed under classic releases than overwhelmed by great promos.

Packrat syndrome. Why don't stamp collectors spend more time writing & sending letters ? That's what stamps are for after all.

And I sort of agree that buying is sort of a game of it's own. I've bought more than played up till recently, and I'm just starting to dive into actually playing many games... as in most of them. I'll be busy for years!
