Great games, like Super Metroid and Yoshi's Island, for only 30 cent each!
I want a WiiU, now :(
Yoshi's Island(that's Yoshi for the NES that is going to be on sale) isn't on the VC yet but still a pretty good sale.
For a limited time only though. (low prices)

I would buy a Wii U if they sell Gamecube games and they better not put some bullshit excuse because Sony removed backwards compatibility for PS2 games cuz they still wanted to sell PS2s.

And I do not want to use the Dolphin Emulator because I used it and it sucked the technology to emulate Gamecube games is too early its still new.

The PS2 is one generation behind the PS3, the GameCube is two generations behind the WiiU and the backwards compatibility ship has already (slightly more understandably) sailed. However, I believe they intend to sell emulated GC games on the eShop as Virtual Console games.

The Wii has full gamecube backwards compatability, and is still sold new right now, so for gamecube games, anyone's best bet would be to get a Wii.

The current Wii doesn't have GameCube compatibility, you'd need to find new old stock or a second hand one.

If you have a Wii U already though, your best bet will be to get a real GameCube, as they're going for much cheaper on the secondhand market. One way or another, you're going to need the GameCube memory card and gamepad, and the Wiis currently being sold don't have GC back-comp.

There is a good chance it will happen, but looking at the 3DS not selling GBA games what the hell is taking them so long.

Also even if they do sell GC games I hope they include some Third Party games from the Gamcube like Resident Evil Remake and 0, Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes, Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem, Soul Calibut 2, Viewtiful Joe, Star Wars Rogue Squadron 2: Rogue Leader, and Tales of Symphonia and Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles.

Waste of money, there is not even an account system, so if your Nintendo breaks all your games are gone. I can bitch all day about Steam and its DRM, but at least they let you re-download your games on any hardware you buy, you even get Windows- and Mac games at no extra cost. Imagine not being able to play your iTunes music on two different iPods. Or your PC. Or your Mac. Or your toaster if you really want. I don't expect to be able to play games from Nintendo on anything other than Nintendo Hardware, but tying the games to the console you buy them on is worse than any DRM I've seen on PC.
Somehow this does not 'woo' me...
So the next gen... well, rather current gen +0.3 console has aquired the possibilty to make decade old games available?

They never said they were going to sell GBA games on the 3DS. In fact they pretty much said they weren't. The ambassador GBA games lack any Virtual Console features and I suspect they're not 100% emulated. There's no restore points, no sleep (apart from the built in sleep function of some games, but this isn't activated by closing the lid), the game doesn't even pause when you open the home menu (and it's the cut down menu like the one you get when you're playing a DS game).

Basically, I'm fairly certain the games are running on some kind of hardware compatibility mode, perhaps the DS mode in the 3DS still contains the GBA mode of the DS. They're not going to be releasing GBA games on the 3DS Virtual Console until they can actually emulate them, and who knows if they'll ever manage that?

Twin Snakes and Eternal Darkness are second party (but I guess since there's a licence involved with TS it's more like third party). Anyway, there have been third party NES/SNES/N64 games on the VC so I see no reason why there'd be only first party GC games.

Well, if your PS3 is still workig that's great for you, but there are so many ways something can break, it doesn't even have to be your fault. Could be somthng as simple as a child running and knocking the thing over. Obviously I don't expect the console manufacturer to replace the hardware someone else broke, but what about the games? Digital distribution has advantages for the publisher, but they need to give some advantages back to the customer. One advantage would be portability; carrying around a dozen dics or cartridges is cubersome, but with digital distribution you can access an entire library from anywhere on the planet. Physical medie gets outdated and there is no way to plug your old NES cartridges into ny other system, but there is no reason not to be able to play digital games on newer hardware. The way it is now only Nintendo is benefiting while the cusomer has none of advantages and all the downsides.
My god, this is the first time in my life i witness the business shark Nintendo doing a promo on their digital market, and i am dead serious! Well, i would get me Super Metroid if it was also for the Wii and French shop.. A man can dream, right? Right??
