I confess my sins:
I don't want to be a console hater forever. I was grown up from Snes to PS2 after all. The PC is only the most sccessful console of this "Next-Gen" generation regarding quantity and quality of games.
So, let me put it that way:
I am thinking about getting a Wii. A Wii offers some nice games (Mad World), also you can play lot's of old Snes classics again and play some PS2-ports.
I want to ask you guys is a Wii worth it? I am a single player dude and rather play action/adventure/horror games than those SSB- party games. So, is it worth it?
I sold mine. In my opinion it's more of a second console, and not a lot of people take the Wii seriously but it's a fun console for casual games and it's awesome for parties. The original games like MadWorld and The Conduit aren't exactly Halo but they hold their own. What people usually buy a Wii for are the little casual games and of course, the Nintendo games. Virtual Console and WiiWare aren't bad as well so long as you want to buy the Classic Controller (IIRC some games require an actually controller).
Any reason why you didn't consider PS3 or XBOX 360 at all?
You should start by checking out the game library of the current-gen consoles by yourself, before you decide.
I've a few friends with a Wii, and they seem to mostly play party type games on them, though with a few exceptions.
Those I know with 360's tend to play more of what I like to call "bro"-mode games, like FPSs, racing games, some fighting games and Rockstar/Band Hero/whatheshitthosemusicgamesarecalled 45, etc.
I've got a PS3, and I play mostly action/adventure games on it, which seems to be the same as those I know with one.

The Wii's main attraction points are those of Zelda and Super Mario, availability of legacy Nintendo titles, as well as the obvious social / party / family gaming applications.
If you don't need or like any of those, getting a Wii is superfluous. You'll probably have more fun with a 360 at virtually the same price. There are plentiful action and arcade titles on the Live Arcade marketplace.
Some of the PS3 exclusives are among the best action-adventure games ever created, like the Uncharted games, or Alan Wake.

1. PS3 has no gamez
2. You can't play your bought PS2 games on them (for the most time)
3. My dad is a quality whore and bought one for the whole family for blue ray movies already.
Why I don't buy a Xbox360?
1.Halo
2.Microsoft
3.Fucked up Live-account system

We bought a Wii for our son, and it's used extremely rarely by either of us. It's basically a gimmick console, and works pretty much only with the games made for that gimmick. The only games that are ever played here are Wii Sports and Super Smash Bros Brawl. All the other games we've bought suffer from such horrible control schemes that they are basically unplayable.
In short, if you have more money than you know what to do with, it's a fun little console, mostly for party play. Basically it's very good entertainment in very small chunks. If, on the other hand, you want something that can keep you entertained a lot of the time, I'd advise against it.

How ignorant of you. As mentioned, God of War and Uncharted are some of the best games you can find around on the PS3 that you can't find anywhere else. And they're PS3 only games because Sony publishes God of War and the Uncharted games, among other things.
Do your best to avoid the Wii, seriously. If you're feeling nostalgic just go get the actual older systems, it's cheaper and fills that nostalgic void better.

God of War is already on my PS2. And as far as I heard GoW 3 is like GoW 2 only that you kill ALL the gods. Uncharted sounds interesting however.
I bought a 360 recently and frankly if i had the chance to try it before the purchase i wouldn't have bought it. There is nothing that console does better then PC (racing sims excluded)
There are few games that are "must-have" on the Wii, but there are a few. Like Okami (if you don't have it on PS2), No More Heroes, Zelda and Mario of course. Other than that I mostly have the older NES, SNES and N64 games. If you really want a lot of those games, then I'd say the Wii is worth it. And Wario Ware is always fun when you got someone to play with.
And things like Wii Fit actually works. Me and my girlfriend got it a few weeks ago. We both suck at actually working out, since it is so frikkin' boring. Yet we have both worked out the past two weeks with it, and it has helped a lot.
I also own a 360, and I love it. There are a lot of games that are console only, and by being a PC Elitist you do miss out a lot. Some games are better on console anyway, or with a gamepad at least. Which I don't have for my PC (yet).
I don't own a PS3, since there are very few games on it I really want. GoW is one game, but I think that is the only one. Uncharted just doesn't do it for me, and I hate FF and MGS.
I'm glad I am not one of those who hate console gaming because it is not a PC. I get a lot more gaming fun out of that :D

Err yeah, excluding an entire platform because of one game is flatly moronic.
Why is microsoft more of an issue than nintendo?
The live gold thing, I agree on that.
The discussion turned me to the impression to get a Xbox360. Considering it's capacity, you can play Bayonetta without lagging. Also, like Durandir, there are some games I really would try out to play, like Conker:Full and Reload, Ninja Gaiden,Kameo and
Deadly Premonition, but my issue is with the many ports. There only few console only games, rest is already ported over at the PC and I just call it a waste of money just to buy 4 games for one console. Also:

1. I can't stand Halo, I saw a gameplay video and got sick of it. What's all the hype for? At least in Half Life you have a more vivid plot and characters. Many people buy the Xbox because of Halo. I dare to say it's the "Twilight" of the games.
2. I don't like Microsoft because they fucked up Rare and took us PC-gamers Alan Wake. Also,Buying a console is like giving in to their demands. they forbid to mod the Xbox console. I know a group of Modders who upgraded their Xbox360 to be able to play international imports. Microsoft figured it out and and shut the consoles down and blcoked their online entry.
3.yup
At least with the Wii I could try some old console games I couldn't try out, like Killer 7, Resident Evil Remake(s), or Conker's Bad Fur Day. That, and the new Prince of Persia TFS on the Wii will be far better than the big console version. I dunno it just looks alot better in gameplay and storyline, got also a Zelda touch.

If you indeed are getting a 360, check out Red Dead Redemption. It is out in a month or so, and it looks awesome. I have seen every trailer there is, and I have never been so hyped about a game ever before. If it delivers half of what it promises, then I will be in gaming heaven!
