Does anyone ha the same problem tht there are many games you want to play but your backlog is so big that you dont know wich game you gonne start with?

Tell me how do you deal with that problem?

I fix this problem by playing the game I want to play.

As for games, sure, I have far too many interesting games in my backlog that I get an urge to try out. But I try not to give in to those urges, as I can't play a couple dozen games at the same time. So I just force myself to limit the amount of games I have installed at the same time. Maybe I just pick the one which is on the top of the pile (or directory).

Thats why I buy games because I want to play them :)

I guess the question was, what if you have like 100 games that you'd want to play right now, and making up your mind which of them to install and play. Not about games you don't want to play.

Forcing yourself to play games you don't want to play is a whole another can of worms.

Maybe i should get a system playing them in alphabetic order or the franchise wich has less sequals or the shortest
games first. Also i have that I want to play the first part before playing the second or third one.
I have witcher 2 but first i want to finish 1 ect.

Same here. Sometimes it might not matter, but I think playing e.g. Baldur's Gate 2 or System Shock 2 without playing the first parts is just not the correct way to play them in my opinion. When Imoen comes to rescue me, it is kinda nice to know her already from the first Baldur's Gate.

But when I started playing Might & Magic 6 or Wizardry 7, I already had made up my mind that it is far too tall order to try to play all the previous games in the series.

With a game like Far Cry 2, I don't think there is any reason to play the first Far Cry before it. The games are quite different, don't share any story or characters etc. Which raises the question, why are they even marked to be of the same "series" (besides marketing reasons of course).

Thats true but then again there are games that get worse later on by restricting the gameplay and put out things that made a franchise good,.

I think the problem we often have when we amass a huge backlog is that we think about the games we are NOT playing and forget to focus on the game we ARE playing. If you want to finish the current game you're playing then focus on that and really get immersed into it - the world, characters, story etc. If you are the type of person that needs to finish a game before moving on then do so. If you are asking how to pick a new game then simply pick one from your list that seems nice to you and then focus on that game. Try to pick a game that is different from the previous games you have been playing so if you finished an RPG then don't jump right into another RPG but mix it up with an RTS or platformer. If you are playing a series then don't jump from one to the next but play something else in between to avoid burnout.
Gaming is supposed to be fun so don't plan out how you wanna game - just do it!

As long as the retirement homes have PCs where I can play my GOG games, and my arthritis doesn't get so bad that I can't use a mouse anymore, I think I'll be fine. I can survive with oatmeals alone at that point.

I have a few wishlisted games but am avoiding buying as I also have a small back catalogue. I actually play mine in order of purchase - even if one of the games doesn't necessarily appeal at the time. More often than not, I end up really enjoying every game I download. However, I do not hesitate to quit and uninstall a game if I'm not enjoying it - i.e. I'm not a completionist for the sake of it.
