I just got an account and it gave some free games. I went to the "my account" tab and clicked on one of the games and nothing happened. I have tried using a different browser but that still didn't work. Am I doing something wrong? How do I play the games?

A box should appear under the game when you click on it, showing what you can download (game & extras are separate). If that does not work, try the standards of clearing your browser cache and make sure that your browser is up to date.
Install Gog Downloader first. Or turn GOG.com Downloader mode off and download it via browser.
Trying with another browser usually works.
To be clear you don't "Play the games" by clicking on them. You must download and manually install them first which may feel different if you're used to a Steam environment. Downloading can be done via the downloader or manual downloads

Try with a different browser, or disable noscript etc. The shelf gets populated through javascript. You can also try the list view instead of the shelf and see if that helps.

Do you have adblocker running or javascript disabled?
