Sweden seems to have an unending supply of good metal, punk and progrock bands. I've often wondered why. Now I believe I have found the solution to this dilemma.
As we all know, nature likes to create opposites as it balances out the food chain and prevents one species from becoming significantly dominant over all others. That is, apart from humans, but that is a topic for another thread.
I believe the plethora of swedish metal bands have evolved as a natural response to this guy.

I think we should give respect to the ABBA money!
They have a great system there for musicians where the government invests in it's artists. I think it's a great thing they don't starve their artists and they re-invest in their people like that. And the groups give back in return, Abba, Roxette, Ace Of Base, Entombed, At the Gates, Meshuggah, Opeth, Union Carbide Productions, Refused....all successful internationally, if not legendary and well remembered groups.
