It is in our hands to stop this!
But most of the games that were Greenlit are at least good.

What? Critical miss?
I am looking forward to Dragons Lair, it has been remastered from the source laser discs apparently and upped resolution to 720p.

Granted, gameplay doesn't have much depth but its still fun to run through and watch the animation.

Yeah, I was proven wrong by this (it happens occasionally) I was expecting a lot more turds or otherwise bland games. Granted, I haven't played all that much, but at least from the looks of it, the ideas are very interesting.

Also, this comic strip is three month late. ;-)

Steam greenlight is cool. It's a step forward. But not a revolution...that's it.
Games that go through greenlight are usually games that were already made and/or that would anyway have been sold elsewhere. It's cool they can get on steam faster now but they would have after being successful everywhere else anyway.
From the text below the image:

Unfortunately it's being curated by the kind of people who voted for The War Z.

My understanding is the game got a free pass around Greenlight due to the company having another game on Steam already. So the Greenlight crowd shouldn't be blamed for that turd getting up for sale.
I went into Greenlight once. I didn't last long. It takes a special kind of person to mull through that place.
I was convinced the system works when Miasmata went through. :3
To OP: I just love people re-posting the thoughts of some other guys, without any thoughts themselves....

Doesn't matter. You cast your vote on what you see / is presented. That doesn't automagically remove all games that are:
a) unoriginal
b) great to play but simply rip-offs
c) looking great on presentation but coming with horrible controls / bugs / whatever

For example: was Minecraft just the inspiration for Terraria, or is Terraria a pure 2D rip-off that shouldn't have been made in the first place? Each can answer that themselves.

In the end Greenlight isn't as great as it could and should have been. But having a choice versus Valve deciding alone, isn't even a contest - besides the fact that even if a turd made it through, I'd still don't have to buy it.

I know, that's why I said it. It's a dirty job, but somebody has to do it. :)

I was convinced the system doesn't work when La-Mulana fell down the ranks.
