Im suprised to sea prince of persia sands of time, but no Prince of persia 1 and 2 which are great classics were as sands of time is very forgettable. Anyone else thinknig some of the games on here like crusaders of might and magic and a few others dont belong? Im hoping this site doesnt just turn into steam i was hopnig the games would all have some merit.

Most likely because PoP 1+2 were published by a different company from the one that published Sands of Time. As long as GOG has not negotiated with the rightsholders for the right to publish a game, they cannot sell a game here.

And as for whether a game belongs or doesn't belong on GOG, you should think through that a bit more.

Ubisoft bought up Borderbund, so they have the right of the entire series and anything Mechner made. It's up to Ubisoft to release them. Same with other Borderbund titles.

Ah, you're right! I saw that the company was sold to The Learning Company but it looks like that was subsequently bought by Ubisoft. I presumed previously that their rights simply went as far as alternative platforms went.

How come the notification system is not working?

Just because I'm a pedantic nitpicker, I'm going to point out that the developer is called Brøderbund, not Borderbund.

There was a whole series of indigestible acquisitions. TLC, which was by then actually Softkey, bought Brøderbund and had to lay off 500. Mattel bought TLC, and Mattel's CEO lost her job over it. Mattel then consigned the remnant of these disasters to vulture capitalist Alec Gores, who broke it up. The games went to Ubisoft (and the rest went to Riverdeep), so you're ultimately right; it's Ubisoft's call as to whether and how they're marketed.

Why only suggested Prince of Persia 1 & 2? I take it there is really no love left for Prince of Persia 3D? Or perhaps there simply was no love for it to begin with? Why? It's not that bad, is it? :-)

I prefer the 3d games vastly over the 2d ones personally. They're pretty dated.

In regards to the topic, the first and 2nd game appear on a lot of flash sites and other freeware areas. Granted, whether these are illegial or official I have no clue, but it appears Ubisoft has no real interest in the titles.

I may be incorrect, but I think the original is hidden in Sands of Time as an unlockable. That was the case in the console versions, but it could have been removed from the PC version.

It varied. The pc version only got the first level of the original remade in 3D. Gamecube and PS2 had the original as an unlockable but xbox owners got Prince of Persia 1+2 as an unlockable. Not really fair that xbox owners wound up with the best version.
