moonshineshadow: So no need to always bash one side or the other. Everyone should just buy where they feel comfortable and that's it.
xyem: Oh, you mean SpinTires, Tropico 5, Guns of Icarus Online, Civilisation 5 etc. aren't actually exclusive to Steam and I can buy them where I feel comfortable?! Amazing, thank you for the great news! Buying SpinTires
immediately!
No more Steam kicking me out of GOIO because it thinks I've lost connection to the internet when I haven't?! Hoorah!
The fact that the above isn't true is why people complain about Steam so vocally and "everyone should just buy where they feel comfortable" doesn't work.
It's like having all your favourite foods (and the ingredients to make them) exclusively sold by Comcast.
Two notes:
1) Developers/publishers get some blame for exclusive releases.
2) Despite hating Steam (and my hate only grew when I started using it) and wish it would stop existing, I was happy when it came to Linux. Why? More choice for everyone, even if I think it is a bad choice :)
Yeah of course you are right. But what I meant was that there is no need to constantly have these threads popping up where people clash with each other just because some people use steam and some not :-)
And yeah... it would be great if there would be not steam exclusive games anymore so that everyone really had free choice for every game.
