Smannesman: To make things fair, GOG should only release games in GOGlish, a yet to be developed language.
avatar
Luisfius: Eh, they all should be in Esperanto. It already exists.
Not to mention Klingon.

But I would appreciate seeing more games in Japanese, and Japanese games in general.

kekko92mt: Why only english as language on many many titles that were avaible with other language ????????
Here, this ought to help :)

http://www.gog.com/mix/aarons_gogmix_giochi_in_italiano

Regarding languages:

We try to get as many as possible but remember, we can only distribute what the publisher of the game allows us to distribute. But don't worry, we may have an older game or two that will have languages other than English sooner or later :). No 100% guarantees for now but keep an eye out :)

In all fairness part of Commandos is in German which is more than can be said of Return to Wolfenstein.

tinyE: Have you ever tried playing System Shock 2 in Latin!? It's fucking impossible!
Yeah, especially as I kept confusing "liberate tuteme ex inferis" with "liberate me ex inferis", with annoying consequences.

That doesn't surprise me. It's a good business move to include all the languages possible.

I just wish you guys could get more Spanish, Chinese and German titles. Studying gets boring sometimes. Esperanto would be great as well.

blotunga: ^This. English is good for you. I've learned english from cartoons and games :)

Sachys: I learned from being beaten up for being too scots! heheh
But being Scots is good!
Since we are talking Scots, I recently saw a list of all the horrific inaccuracies about "Braveheart" and I wondered how actual Scotsman, or women, felt about. If I was a Scot I wouldn't care so much about the inaccuracies as much as I would about some asshole anti-Semite New Yorker who clamed to be an Aussie playing the icon of a heritage he had no actual link to.

Incidentally I only mention it because in the States people of Scottish heritage don't really seem to care but then we are so jaded and I'm willing to bet that 90% of the Americans who came out of the movie screaming "Freedom!" wouldn't be able to find Scotland on a map.

My brother went to university in Dundee (that's in Scotland) about a year after that film was released. He said it was a used as a weapon about why they English are evil, and that he had to be very diplomatic in order to make friends. He was, by default, the enemy, because of that film.

The fact Mel Gibson is a cock doesn't really enter into it. That film was intended as inspiring, but was simply divisive. It was also, as you say, historically innacurate.

Eh, the only good thing about Mel Gibson is that he's in Mad Max trilogy. Lousy actor who acting skill focused on beating the crap out of other people or getting beaten up.

It's not just Scots though, Hollywood once made a movie about Indonesia that's only cast American actors and Asian actors who's not Indonesian. Utter crap of a movie and it's clear that it's part of the proxy war propaganda between US and Soviet.

It does have one good thing though - a great soundtrack.

It's not quite as bad as it used to be. I remember watching a movie from years back where one of the Indians had blue eyes. And it was about American Indians and trappers in the 19th century. The woman had clearly been put into red face for the role, and it was completely obvious.

+1.
