Honestly, I dont want to be blunt, but besides my extreme pickiness, am i the only friggin person who thinks that they should have made more fallouts. Fallout 1 and 2 were great, and so was tactics. So the question is after seeing the success, why havent any other companies made games like it?

Fallout was such a great game and premise, the feats were before their time and the game as a whole inspired developers all over.

There's really only one good thing that comes of this and that is that age of decadence (makers of fallout) will be out in a few weeks as will dead state (zombie survival rpg by creators). Both are turn-based roleplaying games. Yeah....gotta run!
Well you've got Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas, some people hated Fallout 3 and preferred New Vegas, whereas I loved them both.

If you want something more like the original Fallouts, 1 word. Arcanum.
Why? Probably because most of the fan base for the series spews enough bile to make anything within a mile of the license highly toxic.

That and the fact the IP was going downhill in Interplay's hands.
Turn-based or isometric is not really mainstream nowadays.
If you are talking about Fallout itself; serious problems about the IP between Interplay and Bethesda. Fallout 3 and New Vegas was released though.
Some Fallout MMO is to be made yet, either by Interplay or Bethesda.
Appreciate the advice and unfortunately i already beat arcanum. I started that game over about 50 times as im a perfectionist. I eventually beat it with a fine steel dagger master backstab and melee. If i ever do go back to that game, I will do the whole game turnbased. At the time, I was into real time. Now, not so much.

It wasnt just that with fallout. Once they made tactics, it was a whole different take on the game. It was like a icewind dale/bg post apocalyptic party based game. Its just such a shame that there's no way someone cant acquire the rights to make an oldschool fallout game in that universe. I cant play the new fallout as it was too much like a shooter. Im sure its a hell of a lot of fun for a shooter fan, but i preferred the other older games.

If i knew the programming, id make the friggin game myself, but i dont. I know there's mods out there for fallout 2 and tactics but none of them are easy to install.
A demanding and (at the time) limited user base, complex game system, demanding storyline, coding that leans towards a huge bug infestation, long game development... But the main problem was there wasn't a huge market for the series. The Bethesda shift was the only way for the series to survive the new millenium.
There was Fallout game for xbox and ps2 it was called brotherhood so if you are fan you may check it. But its hack & slash tpe like Baldurs Gate Dark Alliance.
Yeah but then it just shifts into being a shooter instead of a real roleplaying game. You cant deny that the new games are shooters foremost. I beat the original fallout 3 at level 12 with a hunting rifle. I picked at the time some of the lousiest feats and i still beat the game. Why, because of reflexes. The new games are shooters and if you are good at shooters you will get through the game.
Because not much people would like to play isometric turn based game. There is market for shooters and fallout will be made like this.

Relevant topical link!
Well id rather get my nuts cut off and fed to a pig, only to watch him slowly digest them before i play any of the new fallout games.

The original games were also very combat focussed. Just because the perspective has switched doesn't mean the emphasis has.
I'd still rather pick the pig nibbling on my nuggets to the shooter. Hss...
But seriously, i dont know why it is that way but ever since i got baldurs gate 2 to work on my pc, my likes for games changed. Instead of playing perfect dark, james bond goldereye, i threw all those games out and played bg, iwd2. I dont know why but in reality, its the view. I cant get used to the view. The new kids on the block can get used to the view. I cant so thats just how it is. I used to be pretty good at shooters as i would pair up the fist sims (dark) on perfect dark with a buddy and go 6 vs. 2.

BTW just to be clear, Iron Tower Studios does not contain any ex-employees of Fallout, to my knowledge. I also don't think either Brian or Annie Mitsoda had worked on Fallout.
Well, if you liked Fallout: Tactics maybe you should try Jagged Alliance 2 and 2.5 , too.

I am also with those who dislike new Fallout. And I like old isometric RPGs much more than new types, too.
