It can't be the age either - King's Bounty is newer than TW and yet it's here on GOG.com for $2.49.

Why would a game made by CD Projekt not be on CD Projeckt's distribution platform?

Well, if this is indeed the case, I suppose CD Projekt are to be commended for making a game that's good enough to have an unusually high price point at this point in time after its release.

It has to do with the publisher and the Enhanced Edition still being $20, most likely.

One of my favorite RPG's. I would have bought it on GOG (even for 10 dollar), but they didn't offer it. So I got it on Steam for 4 euro (the Enhanced Edition). I really, really wanted to but it on GOG, but sorry. Their loss. Still a fan of GOG tho.

I agree that this is a surprising ommision from GOG. I picked up my copy in the steam sale for £2.24, so it's not like they don't already sell it cheap. Furthermore if CD Projekt wanted to get the maximum exposure of their new Witcher game then it would make sense to practically give away the first one, as a few missed sales of 15 euros (that you probably wouldn't have had at 15 euros anyway) would be paid for by sales at full price.

I can only assume that as other posters have suggested - they are locked into deals with publishers and despite writing the game, are not able to freely distribute it.

Does buying the enhanced edition cost more? Can't you download a free patch off their website to add all the new features in anyways?

You need to go from the back to the front. I know, it's stupid and redundant, but that's our search mode.

If you want to buy the game now, it's basically cheaper to get the EE over the standard one. But yes, if you have the basic edition, the EE is basically just a big ol' patch.
