A lot of distributors have EXTREMLEY slow download speeds but I've never been cut off mid download like I just have with GoG.
If you're using a download manager like Free Download Manager, just copy and paste the download link into your halted download's URL and it'll resume.

Sure it wasn't your connection? I've never had Mr. Gog cut me off midway through my download. Plus if you're getting cut midway through, you really don't want to be using anything other than the downloader as you cannot resume downloads otherwise.

Tried that FDM wouldn't accept it.

So I had Pyshconauts half way down and have had to start over from scratch.

The reason I opted FDM is it pulls at 300 kbps where as GoG downloader or Browser pulls at 30 kbps

Why not use the GOG Downloader if you can't get FDM working (it can work, I got it working).
Oh whoops, you ninja'd me.

That's something to do with your computer/connection somehow. I get ~1Mb usually.

That was my though, right now I'm pulling down that file at around 400kbps or so.

I was wondering if the earthquake down there had anything to do with this, but Christchurch isn't an IXP and unless the OP is on the other island from Wellington and Auckland, that's unlikely to have anything to do with it.

I'm on the North Island with Wellington although SpeedTest.net always checks me through ChristChurch for some reason.

However the bandwidth is there because FDM was able to pull 300 kbps and above.

Another weird thing is that GreenMan Gaming keeps pausing itself.....erm....wait.. this GMG I'm talking about, I guess that's actually status quo for them.

I had it downloading at maybe 150kbs, but I was also downloading TF2 and four different source mods, plus streaming video and reading webcomics. I am trying to elevate multitasking to an artform - working on being able to read a book and play my DS along with all that.

I'm pulling the two installer files for Psychonauts, finally getting my Painkiller Black from GMG and attempting to get Alien Swarm from Steam but Steam appears to have shit itself.

I'm getting Alien Swarm too :o

And Steam's been pitching hissy fits all day - I thought it was just my computer, but it might also have to do with the fact that thousands of people probably just got $2 access to all the Source mods on Steam.
EDIT

FDM is now pulling the two installers for Psychnauts at 250 kbps a piece
GMG is doing hyper speed but keeps pausing itself every five minutes
and Steam is pulling at 100 kbps

I'm not too worried about Steam anymore after it taking over thirteen hours to get Risen from them a few months back - I don't question their impediment.

I've found those long ago but playing those empty mods with no one else playing them is extremely boring.

I've got some futuristic sport game and something about pirates but the games are not playable without other people.

I'm not really into MMO's anyway. If source can cough up some single-player MODs then maybe I'll be tripping over meself to get 'em.

I knew Alien Swarm was there too but the 3 ghz reqs scared me away previously. Seeing as I can run Last Remnant I've started trying some of this stuff that I'm supposedly under specs for.

Ok, so the link kept timing out and it can no longer be renewed in FDM as it could previously.

Dloading through Chrome nets about 30 kbps.

So I had to go through the downloader which is doing 150 kbps but man was it a bitch getting the downloader to recongize that I was trying to get something to download.

In the meantime I got logged out of this account twice while using Internet Exploer. Every time i turned the page, it would log out. I hardly ever use IE anyway because I don't like the browser.

GoG has been more trouble today than GreenMan usually is.
I've got to dig up my controller somewhere before I can play - apparently it's like Advent Rising and is darn near impossible to play with a keyboard.
Oh, that's fine then. Not sure where to find my controller anyway ;)
i just tried again and downloads exceed 800kbps
with the manager it goes slightly faster.
There doesn't seem to be a big difference between inet explorer 8 and mozilla.
So GOG doesn't cut a thing a this moment.
Maybe you should check the error locally
