stonebro: I like the upside-down US flag at the start. A hint of things to come per chance?
The upside down US flag is a generally known sign of distress. Yes. A hint, if you will. ;-)
Well, there's no shortage of enemies ... just coming up on Chapter 7 now.
The menu scene slightly changes with each chapter. There's a compilation of those antics of the main menu sniper on youtube.
Playing on Suicide Mission difficulty and the availability of ammo is a huge issue. The stupidity of y two teammates who require healing all the time is also irritating.

You need to order them better. Without them I would never have beaten FUBAR difficulty. Don't just send them at any target, only those they can attack without leaving cover.

I hardly had any issues with my team-mates.

And for the ammo issue, always go for headshots and switch weapon accordingly.
Wwwwwhhaaaat the hell was that ...

... entered a room, killed two bad guys, suddenly the screen starts turning pitch black every half second. I thought the game was glitched.

A heavy enters. When I shoot him, he seemed to get replaced by a ... statue, and "teleport" somewhere else in the room. All while the screen was blinking on and off.

I killed the heavy, eventually, and things went back to normal ... wtf
Pro tip: shotgun drops heavies like flies.

Tired of dying. The difficulty is fucking insane. Not enjoying this.

But don't you want to be a hero?

I fucking hate it when games do the CoD style of "difficulty". Swarm you with enemies who have perfect aim. Add in grenade spam. The cover system bugs out frequently, allowing me to be killed through cover. The run-at-cover mechanic isn't reliable, sometimes you'll just end up running right up at it and stand there getting killed. Oh yeah, and the FUCKING ammo you can't get. You have to run around scavengig whatever drops from your kills, exposing you to the perfect accuracy deadly fire from all directions.

I'm at the spot in Ch 13 outside the downed plane trying to kill everything. Been here for two fucking hours without getting anywhere. All I have is a fucking handgun with 10 ammo in it, fuck off with that crap.

Artificial difficulty and prolonging of the game all the way.

You can always restart the chapter on Walk on the beach difficulty.

I finished the game on FUBAR and I suck at those games. Whenever I was stuck somewhere a simple change of tactics did the trick for me. Remember, the enemies are not endless, don't advance unlless your flank is clear. Pick off the two early enemies with the handgun, get their weapons and work your way forward.

Cover isn't bugged, but if they have a higher vantage spot they can get your behind the cover. Prioritize those enemies. Pop out, headshot, pop back in.

In my experience the game is hard, but never unfair.

My biggest problem is the lack of useful ammo. Ch 14 now, trying to advance up this place with multiple bunkers and strong points ... and I've got barely any ammo. Two RPG rounds is my best bet, but it's not even enough to take out all the strong points. My teammate is even refusing to engage these spots, and I can't bloody well take them down at 100 yards distance with a shotgun.

Game might as well have been called Battle Arena: The Line, because that's what it is. A long line of arena fights.

You need to follow the instructions of your teammate. While it is possible to get through this head on, the preferred circling around is mandatory on the higher difficulties.

If everything fails, start the chapter over, keep the SCAR and and an HMG. Ammo and grenades are plenty at this stage of the game.

Lol, it's not like I'm trying to run through head on.

Here's what I'm up against. Strong point on the left w/ turret and some other dudes. Several dudes behind sandbag covers all the way through the middle. Strong point on the right w/ turret.

I have 1 RPG shot left after taking out the mandatory mortar, so I can take out one of the strong points ... once. But they get "refilled" when I progress further.

There's one refill ammo box on the left about halfway up. Otherwise I've seen no ammo so far. Trying to retrieve drops from downed enemies is suicide with two turrets homing in on you in 0.3 seconds.

Seriously, this is damn near unbeatable.
