Just looked at the best-sold list. Sacrifice isn't even in the top 40?!?! Are you all mad? It's probably the best game here, after HOMM 3 and Fallout...

Opinions....
I want to buy it but I also want to buy 20 other games here on gog so it'll have to wait a little longer :)

here is a video about the game, made by TotalBiscuit and Dodger: http://youtu.be/y7jw6tord7Q
I have it, and so should you.
i look at the game and it's an instant turn-off for me. can't help it. sometimes it just clicks, and sometimes it doesn't at all.

I don't get it. What exactly is the turn-off?
That is surprising, especially considering that wpegg has given away millions of codes for Sacrifice.
I own it but it's in my backlog, I plan on playing through it sometime within the next two months. Any recommended mods or patches or whatever?

It doesn't need any patches, it had very few bugs from the first launch.
It's one of the top 10 best selling strategy games, so I wouldn't say it sells bad. It's just behind Empire Earth which was free for everyone for like 3 days. That means quite a few people have it.

That being said, I think you also kind of might have touched on another reason why. It is a game that didn't really need much help from GOG to get working, and it's also available from other digitial retailers, while a lot of stuff isn't. Of course, there's also the way the best selling list works. As in, how does it? I find it hard to buy that a POS like Two Worlds is so high. It was on sale recently, so does the list reflect more recent sales?

there's nothing to 'get'. you either like a game or you don't. the description, design and art style don't appeal to me at all.

tastes change. i used to dislike the art style of Diablo. now i love it.

Good stuff, thanks.

On an unrelated side note, this forum reply came up on my GOG downloader whilst downloading Alan Wake. Neat little feature I was not aware of.

What Fred said
Well I guess maybe because it is a blend of various styles in one and in that way it doesn't appeal to a specific type of player and in that way it sells less good.
Maybe people don't know that it's got Tim Curry's voice in it.
Gamespot gave it a bigger mark than it gave Diablo 2:
