That or mabye this:

I remember on time the Forums were flooded with Spam threads by Pakistani users, perhaps some GOGers made scripts to dereppe the Paksitani Spammers but forgot to delete the scripts after all is said and done.

Or racism probably from some United States (Post 9/11 islamophobia) or some Europeans (Historic animosity against Arabs raning back from the Crusades)

Again EMPHISIS on some American or Europeans.

Rep system as it is servers little to no purpose.

It's better replaced with "achievement-type-medals" system to your personal profile that takes a long ass time to achieve so it accumulates similar to high rep or something, to whoever may care about such things.

You are still left with the "relevance of importance" or "how do you vote on a good/bad topic and have yourself being heard but at the same time prevent trolling" - that's the paradox that puts the human element in witch is unsolvable couse we can all be assholes for the sake of it, that's the nature of the beast.

No, you don't get downrepped for liking Steam. You get downrepped for insinuating that people who have a problem with DRM/Steam are somehow being irrational or unreasonable. There's a difference.

I don't like Steam either. Why would I call myself irrational and unreasonable? Simple fact is some people are so emotional about the issue they lash out when someone tells them facts they don't want to hear.
