hedwards: It's not just the price which is too high, it's a complete pain to transfer the games from Wii to Wii, in fact they won't let you do it yourself, they have to do the transfer for you, which means no backups, if your console dies you're more or less screwed.

I was hoping that I was wrong about that. But knew full well that I wasn't.

As much hatred as I have for Sony these days, at least they allow you to backup your saves and play on various units if you like to. Granted you have to have the disc in the drive to play, but besides that it's pretty much a non-issue.

You can get smokes for $5? Where do you live? They are minimum $7 a pack (incl. taxes) in my area... but then again, gas here is still a bit below the $5 mark, though I expect that to change very soon.

Sounds like around here. The WA legislature is keen on taxing the crap out of smokes and gas. The general sales tax where I'm located being nearly 10%, except on restaurants when it is 10%.

But, no we couldn't possibly just call MS' nearly $1b tax bill or levy an income tax on the rich to balance the burden.

You can back up saves for most wii games if you have a memory stick. But some don't allow you to. Also your downloaded games to save on redownloading time later when you need to save space, but sadly still can't transfer them to another system.

If you want to compare it to the prices of PC gaming, take the former and add in a touch Mr. Krabs and Wario, and he looks quite a bit like the lovechild of that, and that's being generous, seeing as I've not named any real-life personalities in the industry. ;)

Nintendo has done this for years. When the re-released their classic NES titles that fit in N64 (I think, I only looked at the box and laughed) they charged 30 bucks a pop. This for games that were already 20 years old. So Super Mario, 30 bucks please!

Yeah right. It wasn't that hard to find working NES at the time.

I dump my own carts, it's typically a lot cheaper. There are a few games out there that retail for crazy prices, but for most of the ones I want they can be had for a couple dollars on the 2nd hand market.
