P1na: Is Imperailism that great? At the price it's at, I don't really need your gift, plus I wouldn't start playing now anyway. Still, you did put it on my map now. Anybody cares to act salesman and convince me to buy?
YOU BETTER BUY IT. It's great. You buy it, you hear me?

(you feel convinced? ;P)

Fixed it for ya

Oh, to be honest, I've never played that game and known nothing about it.
It's amazing. I played it years ago, and recently I bought it here - it still kicks ass.

Graphics are nice, because the backgrounds are "painted", so it sill looks just like it looked before.

The game is also pretty complex and will let you entertained for a long time. Even better if you have a friend to play with via LAN for example.

mmm.... I also read the reviews on the game's page and it certainly looks appealing. However, I already have around 70 games on GOG I haven't even installed yet, so adding any more is starting to look absurd.

Tell you what, should it go on 75% sale I'll get it. Hopefully, I'll eventually give it a try, too.

Zookie: First person to say they want a copy of Imperialism, I will gift them a copy. Merry Christmas!
I would like a copy, please, if you haven't already gifted. I already spent my entertainment budget this month between the Hobbit and gifts so I have been lamenting not being able to participate in the Holiday Sales. I did treat myself to King of Dragon Pass this month and have been thoroughly enjoying the experience. It's not a strategy game but it still has a lot of those elements (I still don't know how to classify it).
As far as historical, one of my favourites is the Europa Universalis or Victoria series by Paradox. Not the most complex game in terms of AI but the scale of it makes it quite a challenge.
I love these type of games as well. I own a good chunk of these types of games from Paradox, and I remember loving nobunagas ambition as well as the old Romance of the three kingdoms. Imperialism Looks great, never played it, may try and pick it up later in the sale if I can scrounge the cash.
Unity of Command, anyone? The game is fun--but the AI is mean as hell.

Terrific little game. One of my favorites from last year.

I do enjoy big strategy games, but lately I've been in more of an action game mood. Really need to get back to Crusader Kings 2, though.

I will! Only found the game 4 years ago and it quickly became my most played game ever. I played it for months at a time. Sometimes with the sequel mixed in. I just never get tired of either 1 or 2.
I remember playing Axis & Allies on pc about 15 years ago. That was quite enjoyable. Or was it Risk? I can't remember. Duh.
I really like games like that too. I remember playing Imperialism 2 in grade school and loving it. I think I'll splurge after Christmas and pick up Imp. 1.
Any one else play Making History?

I have only played the demo, and it seemed ok at the time. Been awhile since I have done so though
