All of a sudden it keeps saying my username/password is invalid. I will be seriously pissed if this messes up my witcher 2 download (I have a fixed ISP quota).

I logged off main site and logged back in fine. Downloader still doesnt work.
Try deleting it and downloading the newest version.

What will happen to my huge directory of witcher temp files?
They will not be deleted, but I'm not sure if you will be able to resume the download if you get a different launcher. You should wait until someone clarifies this.
What version of the downloader do you have?

Try the latest version of the downloader. If you already have that, and still have a problem, you'll need to change your password to remove any "special" characters like "=". Just use letters and numbers in your password. They may have fixed this problem in the latest downloader, but with v1336 I already had to change my password so I don't know about later versions.

It should be fixed to some extent, but some characters apparently still gives problems (according to earlier reports on the forum, not personal experience).
There is a known bug in the downloader, where it fails to log in when your password has any special characters (ie. "<",">","/","*","&" etc.). We're working on fixing that, but for now a way around it, is to change your password to a different one using "My Account -> Settings" section.
Hmm I had the same problem and redoing my password did not help - however i just downloaded a new copy of the downloader and installed it over the top of the old one. Everything worked fine and the Witcher 2 download remembered where I was up to with the previous download.

Hope this helps and enjoy the games :)
And where do you find the downloader to "re-download" it?
Nevermind. I just deleted it and the site automatically offered it when I tried to download The Witcher 2. Whew!
