I get PO'd with Microsoft a lot cause their tech support is bad and their products just get me mad. You may say "Why don't you buy a Mac?". Well no 'cause it's too overpriced for me. But we're not talking about that. We're talking about the past Microsoft. Who agrees with me the the 90s Microsoft is a heck a lot better than our present one?

Microsoft was ok to Win98...after that they kind start sucking big time... XP & Win7 aren't bad... but yet...
clicketh
I though Microsoft was the big evil corporation that everyone should hate even pre-Win95.
MS still makes great OS'es and software, and that's what they were and still are good at

What I hate however is how Microsoft seems to be expanding into every single possible division where they think they can make a profit, gaming is one of those divisions

Sony started making consoles only because of the Betrayal from Nintendo and because they were pushed towards this

Microsoft joined the Console market ONLY and ONLY because of potential profit

the first Xbox was OK but the 360 is absolutely terrible, and I don't think it's going to get any better at this point, you also have to take into consideration that Microsoft has done literally Zero innovation in the industry and has done nothing but bad for it

At this point, we might start seeing "Microsoft Bread" and "Microsoft Milk"

Speaking of which...I also remember when Microsoft game studios used to publish very good games on the PC, nowadays though...well...you already know that they published nothing good this gen

95 and 98 were very big leaps in computing and changed a lot of things, Win8 however seems to be going the "Ipad" route, simplifying everything to heck and making everything "giant buttons"

anyway, that's just me rambling

Na they're just a corporation with bad tech support that makes ultra defective products. Mainly XBOX.

Win8 seems to be cool but I think the guys in Redmond are getting crazy. Very crazy. EDIT: MS made a console because some guy who went hiding in Redmond's MS building pursuading MS to make a console.

I don't agree with you because only thing i remember from 90's windows was bluescreens and other computer crashes. You couldn't even run your computer few days without getting some kind of critical software lockdown, today we have far more stable windows operating systems. Time have golden your memories bit too much i think.

PS. And lets not even get into driver nighmare what we had back then.

Besides the Driver nightmare, why were you getting so BSODs? Ran into too many viruses? EDIT: Remember the early times of Vista? A nightmare. XP was far by the greatest I'd say.

Why would I tell you to buy a Mac? Get Linux.

Adzeth: Why would I tell you to buy a Mac? Get Linux.
Because Mac does have better pro application support. Also Linux might be too hard for those who are used to easy graphical interfaces.

Just install Ubuntu then :)
I use Windows out of necessity as a gamer. If Linux 'emulated' (wine isn't an emu technically) windows games better, I'd leave for good
I'll only speak briefly, b/c threads like this have existed since before the WWW was even brought together. A google search will bring up every possible argument ever made. But I need something to keep my brain occupied for just a second. So:

MS is a company. Not God.

Linux and OS X are valid OSes.

OpenOffice is a valid word processor.

XPlane is a valid flight simulator.

Empire Earth is (IMHO) better than Age of Empires.

Sony and Nintendo both make popular consoles.

AMD x86 Open64 Compiler works (among many many many others).

So, if MS products are so horrible and their tech support is so wretched, why do you buy their products? Almost every option above is cheaper than the MS product.

The reason? Value.

You get more bang for your buck when you choose Microsoft products. Almost always. If not, choose a competitor.

And I thought you were a student with low income (joke offcourse) I'm just pointing that Ubuntu is user friendly for PC users ;)
