Hey guys, i remember years ago playing an Unreal game round a friends. All i remember was the level like a big tree, and you jumped like hundreds of feet. It looked great back then and manic! Now with my memory i can't remember for the life of me. I wanted to ask, is this game one of the ones on sale currently of those three? Also, are the ones on sale populated on multiplayer or is it another version (99,2004 etc... i have no idea how to tell between the ones on sale as they might be renamed, who knows!)

Anyways, any help would be awesome as its been god knows how many years since i vaguely played these games! I need some caffiene!

Not sure what level you're describing, but yes, 99 is still populated, pretty sure 2004 is also but I don't think that one was on sale.

Unreal Tournament GOTY. That's the only one to consider right now if you're going for multiplayer. Unreal Tournament 2004 is also a nice option, but it's not currently discounted.

That's cool. Just an old memory of it! So 99 is still populated? Which one is that on sale, as i'm kind of confused about the whole 'gold' version 'goty' or the 'awakening' Probably being really stupid here... Thanks for the reply!

I think the one with the big tree is Unreal Tournament 2004. There's a low gravity level on a giant plant at night-time. It has jump pads that sends you 20+ feet into the air.

The 2004 version is on sale here and I personally like it more than the 1999 version. Both UT games have great bots for offline play. The original Unreal is more of a classic single player FPS and comes highly recommended. Paticualarly if you like games like Half-life 1, Quake 2 or Halo.

Unreal Tournament GOTY, as Gragar said. Loads of fun, and TONS of mods.

As an SP freak I have to say I asked this a few years ago worried I might get caught in a MP mess. The forum recommended Unreal Gold and I FUCKING LOVE IT! As a result I pretty much do whatever the forum tells me to now. :D

There are two Unreal Tournaments; 99 and 2004. Both are awesome, but only 99 is discounted.
This is currently discounted ($2.49).
Unfortunately, that is not currently discounted ($9.99).

Whoa, loads of posts i didn't see when posting! :P Thanks for the replies guys. Sooo GOTY is the one to get for the Multiplayer? All of the names were confusing the hell out of me (and in the past aswell) Thanks for reminding what version that other one was with the tree and jump pads aswell!

So GOTY - multi, GOLD - single player great story.

I remember being so bad at soldier of fotune online... my reactions for shooting a team mate in the face with a shotgun was second to none, but the enemy? Couldn't hit bugger all! ;)

Thanks guys for the help as i was really confused (it stopped me from deciding the first day it was onsale)

They sure are... as long as you don't play on maps with vehicles in '04. I swear those bots are the dumbest drivers ever. It's very probably due to the fact that they weren't originally programmed to handle them as UT '04 was basically an update to '03, which didn't have vehicles in it. That's why the solo 'campaign' doesn't feature them either.

The only thing I have to say is get every Unreal game you can when you can, except maybe UT3. Never played it, might not be as good.
