I don't know if anyone's mentioned Fallout yet, but you could give that one a try.

anjohl: On a side note, what's the difference between MIGHT and Magic and HEROES of Might and Magic?

The original M&M games are oldcore first-person party RPGs like Wizardry or The Bard's Tale. Heroes is a spinoff that eventually became the new flagship of the franchise, and is a sort of quasi-4X strategy game.
Might and Magic pack, Realms of Arkania or Fallout.
Those are the best of the best.

I played a bit of the newest HMOM on Steam, and it reminded me of Final Fantasy Tactics, and it's ilk.
Speaking of which, can anyone reccomend a game like that available digitally?

Jagged Alliance 2?

For tactical squad based gaming you can't go wrong with Fallout Tactics. It gets knocked for not being 'proper Fallout' but that's not really what you're looking for here, seemingly.

JA2 is like Final Fantasy Tacitcs? IE, you have a grid, and characters have a move limit on thgat grid?

Kindasorta, it's based on movement points. If you really insist on a JRPG-like game, try Odium aka Gorky 17, it has strict grid-based combat.

I might be misinformed, but aren't the battles in Realms of Arkania like this as well?

Yeah, they are. Good call, that slipped my mind for some reason. Actually Arkania's combat is probably the most similar to Tactics.

Good, because I was planning on getting them because of that =D
wasn't around over the weekend, so I didn't respond right away.
Forgot to mention, I've played and beaten all the fall-outs, I was looking for something more dungeon crawly this time around... sounds like HoMM or Arkania is the way to go. Should I wait for Arkania #3 or are 1 and 2 better?

I haven't played it myself, but Arx Fatalis looks like a good dungeon crawler. It's meant to be like a spiritual successor to Ultima Underworld.

Just a note, the "Heroes of" Might and Magic are more turn based strategy than RPG... "Might and Magic Limited Pack" is the RPG collection. And if you've already beat both Fallout games, I'd HIGHLY recommend Might and Magic Worlds of Xeen for old school RPG goodness. :)

Start with 2 and the move to 3. 2&3 are widely regarded as the best. And yeah, HOMM isn't really an RPG, that would be M&M.
