I've been reading and participating on this forum on and off for years and the thing that strike me the most when coming back this time is that it's dull.
Yeah there are some that drop in now and then and get people upset but by and large this forum have gone boring. From what I've gathered it's because "we" think the forum is oh so great and that is because of what? Everyone being polite? Because that's the only reason I can find.

The only ones that dare to stick their neck out seems to be new ones, that promptly get corrected to the morals of the GOG "community" and old ones that are wise enough to stick it to them that say they are out of line.

So I say the GOG community ain't that great anymore. Was better before that whole "GOG community is great so we have to watch our standard" thing.

What do you mean exactly? I spend much of my time on GOG forums and I like it here. It's the only forum I visit.

Safe and easy going is also lack of diversity. Boring. I mean that it's too nice. It wasn't that kind of nice before. It's kinda you have to be nice for niceties sake.

Well, you've every right not to like it here. The Internet is vast, you'be also every right to search for a place that would better suit you.

I personally enjoy GOG's forums a lot exactly because it's populated mostly by polite, well-manered and kind persons. I hate all those forums I went where it seems there are only trolls and drama queens.

So, non, I'd prefer not to have any "agitators" here, thank you.

If by boring you mean polite, and by "dare to stick their neck out" you mean the latests scammers, I think you have a problem.

I think the problem here is different definitions of what it means to have a great forum. If you want a forum where there is more conflict, then there are plenty of other forums out there that can fill that role, but I like the community here.

Oh, there are definitely some disagreements here and there, but why would anyone specifically look out for fights between people? That makes little sense to me. I know I throw out some asshattish opinions of my own out every now and again - and I most certainly don't give a shit what people may think about those - but that's as far as I go since I'm not willing to go into virtual mud-slinging as arguing on the internet is as pointless as ever. For the most part though I do try to treat others with respect. I don't see anything wrong in that.

A forum without agitators is a stale forum because then you don't discuss the questions that will inevitable bring tempers into it. For lack of a better word. What? Only if you're a Goth woman. Mmmm...

But yeah. I want me some roughness on a forum. Otherwise it's stale.

I like it here, it's nice and cozy and people are nice. Even that necromacer dude that wants to raise an undead army is polite.

Please don't change that. The world needs more places where evil despots and undead villains can chill out without drawing the attention of two bit do-gooders, or even those meddling kids.
