It's not here. . . .yet. I've still got my fingers crossed for the entire Wing Commander series.

+1 for karmic goodness.
Well, this is at least 90% as good as the original: Privateer Gemini gold. There are a couple of spots that can be a little buggy, but I didn't have any trouble on my play-through.
I actually think the combat is a little better in the remake than in the original. For instance, in the original, I remember being able to beat a Kamekh capital ship with a fully decked out Centurion just by sitting in front of it and holding the fire button. Not so much the case in the remake ;). Also, Gothri heavy fighters seemed much more of a challenge to me.

Gemini Gold is a pretty good (and free) remake that I too recommend.
But I still would LOVE to see Privateer on GoG, and the entire Wing Commander series for that matter.
I literally bought it an hour ago on a flea market for 0.5 euro :)

Wow talk about lucky. Hard to imagine someone would be mad enough to sell such a classic for only 50 cents.

-woops - some one mentioned GG already. Its still good though. Haven't played PR/PU in a while, but it was pretty solid last time I tried it a few years ago. Of course, PA just owns :-) (don't be put off by the graphics!).

Yeah it was clear they didn't have any idea...
Last week I also found temple of elemental evil (if i'm not mistaken from the same developers as arcanum) for 1 euro.
