Hey guys,

I'm new to GoG and I don't know where to start and what game to get.

I'd chuck in I'm a huge fan of RPGs but I'm only 17 so the first RPG I fell in love with was Oblivion. I'm looking for RPG I suppose, but not one too complex which is too hard to get understand / get into. I want something quite simple to start off with a hooking storyline or gameplay.

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this.

You guys can chuck in suggestions for fun / stealthy adventure / action games (I'm a huge Hitman series fan)

Thanks in advance.

I loved Deus Ex when I was your age, you could try that. And I still love it, by the way.

But if you want something simple... then maybe a diablo-clone such as torchlight would be what you want. The storyline is pretty bad though as far as I know.
Planescape: Torment is probably the best RPG ever made, start there . Then check out the other D&D RPGs .

Also, take a look at Sacrifice - it's an Action/RTS game, one of the most underrated games ever made .
GOG just released Summoner, which I've been playing through. It's very fitting to your (quite vague) spec of what you want.

If you want a newer game, perhaps Two Worlds would be a good one.

sinatralifestyle: so the first RPG I fell in love with was Oblivion.
Tried the Gothic series ? Gothic 2 is very different but almost as good as Morrowind, if you can excuse a slightly less streamlined interface.
Apologies Licurg, I don't really mean to reply to you, but expand on your reply.

Agreed. They're not without complexity, but if one gets over that hurdle (and at least Planescape doesn't offer a multitude of classes and stats to bother with - though the dialogue and gameplay choices are more complex), they are quite awesome.

Though Licurg is the resident Sacrifice evangelist and perhaps should be taken with a grain of salt, he really isn't wrong.
I don't care who he is or what he wants, with that login I say we make him king of GOG and give him all the games for free.
If you're interested in RPGs, I suggest Witcher 2; personally, I didn't like the first one because of controls and the way it looks, but you might like it- watch some youtube videos.
I'd heavily recommend you give The Witcher 2 a try, if you haven't played it. It's an excellent game, and I suspect you'll probably enjoy it.

Other than that, just have a look at the various GOG mixes/ recommendations, or just look through the list of games, perhaps sorting them by rating or popularity. Most of the games here are good, so you can't really go wrong. :)

Damn, you ninja'd me. But yes, I agree with most of what you're saying, which is why I suggested the second instead of the first. But it's good too. :)

I'm everyone's jester.

It's the only thing I'm good at. :D
Hmm k lets see here...

If you're prepared to go retro you've got your pick of the absolute best when it comes to rpgs:
Fallout 1&2 (<--- Best ever! if you allow yourself to get into it (imho of course :) ) ) All the infinity engine games : Baldur's gate, Icewind Dale and Planescape Torment.
Oh wow, you know, there are so many damned good titles on here that it is very difficult to know where to start. I'll try to name some that I happen to know:

If I could only recommend 5 games to anyone wanting to try out gog it would be :

1.) Dungeon Keeper 1 (Bullfrog's greatest game I would wager over some goats milk - I have no idea what that means)
2.) Disciples 2 (rich and dark atmosphere with highly detailed graphics and filled to the brim with batshit crazy looking characters)
3.) Outcast (Years ahead of its time. Great story (check) Beautifully realised alien world (check) Jaw droppingly beautiful soundtrack (check - Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra!) Creates lasting memories (double check))
4.) Fallout 1&2 (Neither should be skipped, as that would be a crime. Remember to get the Restoration project for Fallout 2. These are the best rpgs that I know of, but then again, I am a sucker for their particular brand of mad max esque atmosphere. Also Gauss rifles! )
5.) Roller Coaster Tycoon (have to include a sim game dont I?)

and believe you me, I feel horrible for leaving out certain titles :P

edit : Sorry but I just cannot not mention : System Shock 2 (scifi horror fps of which bioshock was the spiritual successor)

edit2 : Oh noes I forgot about Commandos! (ww2 squad based masterpiece, MASTERpiece! Commandos 2 is the king)

I just realized he likes Hitman games which means he's a pretty good player because those are hard. He also likes stealth. Well it's not really an RPG but I'm going to be serious for a second and throw out Riddick.
